Prayers up for Trevor Lawrence. There is no place in the game of football for dirty hits like this one.

Let’s wrap all quarterbacks in bubble wrap. That will solve the issue.

For those of you of said he slid late and this was unavoidable, watch it again. He was not diving to take out his legs, he dove straight for the upper body as he was going down. The defender could have avoided a direct hit to the head. This was dirty and an attempt to injure another player.

He should be suspended for the rest of the season.

That's not a dirty play. Coming from a DB. He was going full speed and didn't give himself up until the very end.

It's hard for a defender to stop their motion when a qb decides to slide. If they're going to run they should be treated as a regular receiver, or running back. #17 on Jacksonville should've been ejected from the game as well.

I have an opinion probably not popular but I’ll share. Football is a full contact sport. These men train every day of their life sometimes day and night. I can think back how Walter Payton trained. I don’t think the quarterback or any other ball carrier should be able to give themselves up. Basically raising your hands or surrendering with 1,2,3 seconds for your opponent to do the correct tackle or not. I agree that the hit was not good. Maybe if the ball carrier can’t give himself up he can’t advance the ball and needs to throw it away. I’ve never been a fan of the baseball slide and the rules are so tangled in each specific play , there is no definitive line. Correcting the problem, go back to the past. Fran Tarkenton Terry Bradshaw Roger Staubach these guys ran and they got down or out of bounds. Never would I slide and leave my head and neck open for a player to have to make a decision on can I or can’t I tackle this player. So sad that the NFL has turned this once great sport into a side show of penalties, fines, late hits or not late hits. I like a QB to be able to run but they shouldn’t be able to surrender in a second and keep the yards to gain.

Take the helmets off, and adopt rugby’s contact rules and this crap will stop.

It's an absolute split second decision and you can't take the football player out of a football game. You can't be in the mind of the defensive player who just all of a sudden drops his hands when it hit like this is imminent
