“It becomes so critical in the coming months to see where are the states going, each individually, and if we don’t all stay substantially equivalent, how far off are we? She recently met with The Wall Street Journal reporter, Mark Maurer, to discuss the potential changes to CPA licensure, emphasize the many factors at play, such as the need to preserve mobility of CPAs, and more on the PICPA’s stance towards this critical topic. While States try to address the declining number of CPA accountants by developing a new pathway, one potential pathway that the #AICPA must consider to boost the workforce is to enter a member recognition agreement with professional reputable accountancy bodies like #acca. The talent pool and quality #acca members provide are exceptional. Accountancy is a global profession and it is time we think global. I would recommend a pathway exam for those who are members of a professional accountancy body. I personally would be more inclined to obtain the CPA if there was a pathway exam than trying to sit four exams. I hope now is the time that we can set aside political differences and see how best both institutions can leverage one another strengths to ensure that we attract and retain the best accountants. https://lnkd.in/eKskgtdc
