How Flexible Design Transforms Retail Environments Retail design strategically utilises space, aesthetics, and functionality to enhance the shopping experience. Zentia's Prestige suspended ceiling tiles offer a wide range of colours to align with brand identity and seasonal themes. Their easy installation and adaptability enable quick changes to store layouts without compromising aesthetic or acoustic quality, ensuring a seamless and inviting retail environment. What is Retail Design? Retail design directly impacts the customer experience and a shopper's willingness to buy a product. It encompasses everything from store layout and organisation to interior design and colour selection. Good retail design can have a positive impact on a shop's financial performance. Acoustics and the careful use of colour play an important part in this. Colour can convey a brand identity, help customers navigate an interior space, or even create different retail zones. Enhancing Brand Identity Through Retail Interior Design Brand identity is extremely important in retail environments, whether they be supermarkets or high street banks. Consumers connect to brand colours more than they realise, building relationships between the retailer and its customers. When you think of the most high profile brands, for example Barclays or Starbucks, you will probably associate a colour with their names. While colour can be used in retail interior design to enhance a brand, it is important to use it thoughtfully. https://lnkd.in/e7awkfKz

#RetailDesign does not end with creating a glamorous space—these spaces must narrate a #story, one that conveys the authentic #values and #origin of the brand, resonating deeply with customers. #Longevity is another crucial aspect that has to be addressed in retail design; spaces should be curated to remain relevant and inspiring ten, twenty, or even fifty years from now. |IMPORTANCE OF DESIGN EFFICIENCY BEFORE AESTHETIC| p.s:power of good design practice I recall a recent thoughtful discussion with business owners during my 3-day workshop centered around design, architecture, and interior elements with them. At first, they expecting insights solely on enhancing the visual appeal of their shops, but the participants were pleasantly surprised by the realization that design efficiency goes far beyond aesthetics. It was evident that optimizing space is not just about looks; it's a fundamental marketing strategy. The main lesson learned was how a proficient designer can elevate floor design efficiency. By tailoring space design to suit the specific business type and purpose, owners can significantly influence their profitability. I have shared a simple yet impactful tip that emerged:if a business's floor efficiency lags below 50% within its industry, the road to profitability becomes arduous. Conversely, surpassing 80% efficiency signals an opportunity for expansion to maximize profit potential. Introducing the bubble diagram method alongside the percentage of area method provided the participants with clarity, guiding them to make informed decisions when selecting a designer best suited to meet their aesthetic requirements. My focus throughout the session extended beyond surface-level aesthetics. It emphasized the necessity for owners to optimize their selling or service areas to fuel revenue growth. A competent designer, prioritizing value delivery, will consistently place client returns above mere ornamentation. Investing wisely in space efficiency paves the way for a lucrative business, aligning design with the company's financial objectives. Delving deeper into the essence of interior design, it is evident that it's more than just creating visually appealing spaces. It's about curating environments that seamlessly enhance customer experiences and support business objectives. By maximizing space functionality, businesses can cultivate a welcoming ambiance that encourages extended customer engagement with their offerings. Successful design should be strategic—factoring in elements like traffic flow, shelf placement, seating arrangements, and overall layout to ensure operational efficiency. Achieving a harmonious blend of aesthetics and functionality where each aspect serves a purpose in enriching the overall customer journey is key. In essence, a well-designed space is not only visually appealing but also a potent tool that drives sales, bolsters brand reputation, and fuels business expansion. Whether contemplating a new shop layout or a refurbishment, it's critical to remember that the true value of design lies in its capacity to transform spaces into profitable assets. Ultimately, participants in the session will be equipped to manage their budgets effectively and gain a deeper insight into their business before making any aesthetic decisions as business owners. #powerofgooddesignpractice

💡 A client doesn’t “use” a room—they use the furniture in it. - Ar. Rohit Nagia 🚀 A disruptive way of doing interior design - “START WITH FURNITURE” Recently, I had the pleasure of sitting down with the incredibly talented & passionate Ar. Rohit Nagia, Founder of METRICCHANT DESIGN ATTRIBUTES PVT LTD. 🛋️ Our discussion revolved around an intriguing idea: Why not finalize furniture first and then design interiors around it? It’s a shift in mindset that challenges conventional practices, but as Rohit explained, it’s a method that delivers unparalleled results. ❓ What’s the Problem with the Usual Way? Traditionally, interiors are designed first, and furniture is selected later. But here’s where it often goes wrong: ~ Initial 3D’s don’t always have the furniture of choice - and then the outcome is always a surprise - with 50-50. ~ 3D’s are made in the start - furniture is selected in the end - Clients own choices change with time ~ Trying to find the right match becomes challenging and time-consuming. By the time- the furniture selection stage comes - clients are already tired, overshot budgets, impatient, and end up compromising. 🌟 Why Start with Furniture First? Rohit shared how progressive designers are adopting this unconventional yet logical approach. Here’s why it works: 🛋️ Furniture Defines Usability: A client doesn’t “use” a room—they use the furniture in it. 🎨 Sets the Theme: Furniture becomes the foundation of the design theme, streamlining color, texture, and layout choices. ⏱️ Saves Time: This approach can save up to 25% of project time by enabling quicker decisions. 🔧 Minimizes Rework: No need to redo 3D designs or layouts due to mismatched furniture choices. The process becomes seamless. 💰 Budget Clarity: Starting with furniture gives a clearer idea of costs, allowing clients to make informed decisions from the outset. 🤔 My Takeaway: Doing Furniture for over 14 years at TIS LIVING - I and VINEETA DASSANI - are very aligned with this approach - as we see clients facing lot of challenges. This conversation was a revelation and reinforcement of the idea - that furniture is a critical part of any space - making the right choices at the right time is important for the best outcome. Rohit’s insights reaffirmed a simple yet powerful truth: 💡 A well-designed home isn’t about the walls or ceilings; it’s about the way people interact with the space, and that starts with the furniture. 🗨️ Let’s Discuss! I encourage everyone—designers, homeowners, and enthusiasts alike—to rethink how they approach home design. Start with the furniture. Let it inspire the space around it…. Also why don’t you share your thoughts / experience around this idea….. Thank you, Rohit, for sharing your wisdom and for being a visionary in redefining the way we create stunning spaces #PodcastRecap #FurnitureFirst #HomeDesign #TISLiving #Architects #TISLiving #Podcast #Tips #Ideas #3D #Arch #Furniture #Usability
