Responsible Offshore Science Alliance (ROSA)’s Post

🚨 Funding Announcement Coming Soon! 🚨 ROSA announces an upcoming Request for Proposals (RFP) to launch our Regional Research Program, making available up to $3.4 million in funding for research on the interactions between offshore wind and fisheries along the U.S. East Coast. This funding is made possible through the Empire Wind 1 project, developed by Equinor and supported by the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) under its New York 4 Offshore Wind Renewable Energy Certificates solicitation. This RFP will support three high-priority research areas: 1. Supporting Fisheries Access – Advancing strategies for coexistence and mitigation in offshore wind areas. 2. Understanding Potential Impacts to Larval Fish – Investigating the transport and settlement of larval fish and invertebrates. 3. Fisheries Monitoring: Data Integration, Evaluation, & Analysis – Enhancing regional monitoring efforts through innovative data integration. ROSA is committed to funding hypothesis-driven, actionable research that builds on existing efforts, delivering timely results to support fisheries and offshore wind management, planning, and mitigation.
