Throwback to the origins of RSI's Trust Project! RSI recently ran across this fascinating 2021 video of Ava Abramowitz and Ken Webb discussing the potential for behavioral analysis to be applied to mediation. The conversation is expertly led by Michael Lang as part of his In Their Voices project. Here's Ava talking about the goal of applying behavioral analysis to mediation, from the video: "What I would like to do is unleash the benefits of, power of, mediation so that disputants can make maximum use of it. And to be able to do that — given the fact that research money is so slight in the United States of America — if we could all agree on something, we could start building on each other's research so that we kept on enhancing and emboldening and broadening what we know. "So the hope is is that we provide a methodology and a mechanism that would be available to all researchers so they can build on each other's research." RSI's Trust Project, which Ava and Ken are integral to, is now exploring the effects of mediator behavior on party trust, using behavioral analysis! In today's age of misinformation and disinformation, it's crucial that we prioritize voices grounded in expertise and evidence. We need more Neil deGrasse Tysons and fewer Joe Rogans. Thought leaders like Tyson, who communicate complex scientific ideas with clarity and integrity, are essential in helping us navigate the flood of information that bombards us daily. Giving platforms to those who speak freely without substantial knowledge on important subjects can be dangerously misleading. As Michiko Kakutani discusses in "The Death of Truth," the erosion of objective facts and the rise of "alternative facts" threaten our ability to make informed decisions and have constructive debates. Opinions and ideas should be grounded in evidence and expertise, not just loud voices. We must strive for a culture that values truth and critical thinking over sensationalism and speculation. Let's uplift the voices of those who enlighten us with facts and wisdom rather than those who bask in ignorance. https://lnkd.in/d3k6Zx7H

In Ep 13 of Thinking Aloud, I interview Natasha Hausdorff. She is a barrister at Six Pump Court Chambers, a frequent speaker on international law, and a commentator on the Arab Israeli conflict. In the episode, we discuss how her life has changed since October 7, how she measures the impact of her advocacy, and how her strong Jewish identity and love for Israel has influenced her work in fighting antisemitism and misinformation. https://lnkd.in/gqrx7a5y
