Every millisecond matters on the racetrack, which is why racing teams need data systems as fast and finely tuned as their cars. Off-the-shelf file management systems don’t cut it, so most teams across F1, Formula E, INDYCAR Series, and NASCAR cobble together homegrown solutions that lack visibility, break easily and are hard to scale. Distributed data infrastructure offers a better way. Our advanced tooling delivers vital telemetry data to engineers in real-time, whether they’re on the pit wall, at the garage, at headquarters, or even remotely—regardless of the connectivity available to them. Our work accelerating data sync and file sharing for teams across series showcases the best of what the Resilio Active Everywhere platform can deliver. Here’s how Active Everywhere gets race cars over the finish line fast: 👉 https://lnkd.in/gtdPiD5n #Resilio #ActiveEverywhere #DataEngineering #Motorsports #RacingTechnology #RealTimeData #TelemetryData #EdgeComputing #DistributedSystems #F1Tech #IndyCarTech #NASCARTech #FormulaE #DataInfrastructure #CloudComputing

The trio of bourbon, horse racing, and edge computing might seem like an unusual combination at first glance, but it perfectly encapsulates a blend of tradition and modern technology and one of our favorite MTS client and partner annual events. Bourbon, with its rich history and deep-rooted heritage in the southern United States, especially Kentucky, provides a cultural backdrop that contrasts sharply with the high-speed, innovative world of edge computing. Horse racing, often synonymous with Kentucky due to the famous Keeneland, marries well with bourbon, sharing a legacy of leisure and spectacle. Edge computing, on the other hand, represents cutting-edge technology that processes data closer to where it is generated rather than relying on a centralized data center, thus enhancing real-time data processing and decision-making. This could revolutionize various aspects of horse racing, from improving safety measures with real-time monitoring to enhancing the spectator experience through instant data analytics, bringing a fresh, tech-driven perspective to these traditional pastimes. #BourbonCulture #HorseRacing #EdgeComputing #TechInnovation #DataAnalytics #DigitalTransformation #RealTimeData #SportsTechnology #HeritageAndTechnology

It’s blurry and it’s brief - but this moment, 20 minutes into the Las Vegas Formula One race, was the first time we recorded NEXGINEER™ Motorsports delivering real-time streaming in action. Streaming isn’t trivial, especially when combined with advanced analytical modelling running live during a race. Currently, we’re operating with a latency of 3-5 minutes, which increased as the race progressed and data volumes grew. Over 300,000 rows of sensor data were streamed, processed through feature engineering, machine learning models, optimisation algorithms, and delivered. Our next challenge? Bringing that latency down to under a minute, to less than a lap - a goal we’re excited to tackle as we push the boundaries of what’s possible in real-time race analytics. #formulaone #formula1racing #motorsports #formula1 #EngineeringExcellence #DataDriven #machinelearning #artificialintelligence #realtimeanalytics

Really interesting video here of the Nissan Motor Corporation #ProPilot Assist 2.0 operating in hands-free mode on U.S. highways. There is a #DMS on the steering column, but what is informative is how much of the time the IR illuminators can be seen turned off. The assumption is that while there is a DMS installed, it isn't working for much of the time. The teachable moment here is the importance of a DMS constantly measuring #cognitive #distraction when a vehicle is operating #handsfree, because the driver can have both their head pose and eye-gaze directed at the road ahead, but their thoughts can be elsewhere. #Humanfactors scientists call this "mind wandering" and it can be detected and mitigated using DMS with real-time glance pattern analysis, but this requires a system which actually understands human behavior. Cognitive distraction will almost certainly be a factor in the investigations into Ford Motor Company's #BlueCruise by #NHTSA and #NTSB and highlights the importance of #automakers taking the role of a DMS seriously when designing safe hands-free supervised automation systems. NHTSA may also want to think about understanding how this issue can be overcome in eyes-off driving systems. Specifically, how can the human adequately perform the supervisory role, when they have been told it is safe to take their eyes off the road? https://lnkd.in/eTZWjAq6
