Organizing Security for Digital Transformation So much of the conversation around security hyper-focuses on the tech. From our acronym soup of security tools, to the latest buzzwords. The reality is, the way teams are structured and operating have a massive impact on organizational outcomes - even in security. This is a great paper from Phil Venables and the Google Cloud Security team discussing reshaping security teams and they way they operate for digital transformation. It discusses moving from a centralized to a product-oriented style, embracing cloud, and the various modern security organization models across areas such as cloud, SecOps, IR, IAM and more. Great read and food for thought when it comes to how security is structured and engages with business and engineering peers. #ciso #cyber #leadership
Great stuff here. I love your call out that “the way teams are structured and operating have a massive impact on organizational outcomes” - because delivery performance improves when we minimize people and process related friction. That page 13 is also *mwah* chef’s kiss.
Thanks for sharing this insightful post! I've been thinking a lot about how to restructure our security team to better support our digital transformation. This paper seems like a valuable resource. Chris H.

1moGood thoughts #ChrisHughes. What I will always remember when it comes to transformation is that there are two sides to the ledger. On the one side, you have the enabling tech. On the other the People side. Tech enables the transformation and the people carry out the process. so if it is out of balance, you will struggle.
