Salary - max 24LPA Position Overview: The Person will be responsible for identifying and capitalizing on new business opportunities within the FMCG/food processing sector. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in business development and an understanding of technology solutions, with a deep understanding of the unique needs of the food processing and FMCG industries. Key Responsibilities: Build and nurture strong relationships with key decision-makers in FMCG and food processing companies. Identify client needs and propose tailored technology solutions that enhance their operations. Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue targets for technology solutions. Expand the customer base by targeting new segments and markets within the FMCG/food processing industry. Develop and implement strategies to drive business growth, focusing on the expansion of technology solutions within the FMCG/food processing sector. Identify and assess new business opportunities, including potential partnerships and technology advancements. Collaborate with product development teams to ensure that solutions meet market demands and customer needs. Attend industry events, trade shows, and conferences to build the company’s network and promote technology offerings. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Marketing, or a related field. An MBA or equivalent is preferred. Experience: Overall experience of 8-10 years with a minimum of 5 years of experience in business development, sales, or technology. consulting, with a focus on the FMCG/food processing industry. Skills: Strong technical acumen with an understanding of the latest technology trends in FMCG/food processing. Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills. Ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders. Sales and customer-facing roles are often seen through a narrow lens, with many industries considering candidates as ‘freshers’ if they don’t come from the same background. But is that really the right approach? From my experience, what truly matters in sales is persistence and focus. I’ve had a diversified career—starting in liquor, moving to telecom, then banking, and now fintech. Each of these roles demanded different skills, yet I thrived because I focused on learning the products and mastering the art of selling them. I still remember my interview with the Cluster Head in Mumbai for a banking role. He asked me, ‘You don’t have any experience in banking, how will you manage?’ My response was simple: ‘In the liquor industry, I sold liquor; in telecom, I sold SIM cards; here, I’ll learn and sell financial products.’ I was hired, and it’s been a rewarding journey since. The point is, many companies overlook candidates just because their CV doesn’t match the current KRA.
