Dear Mr. Kay: Hi! How are you? My name's Renee Taylor, and I'd like to say "thank you" for extending an invitation to me to connect with you. However, please be aware that I don't have a need to buy financial products. I'm sorry to hear of your father's illness, and hope that your parents will have a soft landing into financial solvency, in due course. Now: You mentioned "education" as a way of preventing financial hardship. May I, very respectfully, ask why you appeared not to mention becoming educated about something time-proven, like medicine or something else based on evidence? Do you parents have the foundations, that is, numeracy and literacy skills, that they need to survive? Do they have a Grade 12 Diploma, something inexpensive for older adults to get? If they have a language of origin they could tutor, could they do that? It seems anyone can make some money tutoring his/her language of origin these days, since it pays fairly well, and lots of people out there want "fluidity" and "cultural attunements." As for languages being evidence-based, I know that a language's grammar, etc., usually entails a certain logic! Want me to send your folks a template for a "Lesson Plan," to do every night before they teach a class? -RT.
