How do you show up for different generations on your team? Understanding the different needs can be one good starting point, and applying your leadership fluidly. In my opinion, it’s all about creating a sense of belonging - and doing that with a curious mindset.

We all tread a line between staying safe and striving for a bolder vision, mission, or purpose. Yet many of us end up “playing not to lose” versus “playing to win.” In a really interesting chat with Robert (Bob) J. Anderson of The Leadership Circle, we discussed how to bravely take steps towards living more purposefully. If you missed it the first time around, catch-up here: https://lnkd.in/e9AJMRgu

What are we leaving behind for future generations? Why even think about our own leadership legacy in our most active years? What kind of legacy do we leave behind as leaders? Are we shaping and creating workplaces where we feel we are doing meaningful work and which fulfills us? Why is the choice between profit and goodwill not necessarily a choice? What are the workplaces like where our kids would also love to work? These are some of the questions we seek to answer with the Legacy Leadership approach by Bridge Budapest and Veronika Pistyur, Eszter Arvai, György Nagy, Timea Pesti and Lancz Róbert. I like this view of leadership: empathy, humility, trying to understand others and their motivations, seeking connection. It's available to everyone regardless of their formal title. When we work with teams that want to progress in their EDI goals, there are often one or two strong advocates in the groups who are passionate about the work. Through this form of leadership, they can bring others along for the journey. When those same advocates take a more traditional approach to leadership, they alienate and shame the people around them.
Jake Stika (Next Gen Men) shares his definition of leadership.
