Exciting news! Reed Construction has been recognized as one of the 2024 Best Workplaces in Illinois! This prestigious honor, awarded by Illinois State Council of the Society for Human Resource Management (ILSHRM) and Best Companies Group, highlights the best employers across the state that are making a significant impact on the economy, workforce, and local businesses. To earn a spot on this inaugural list, companies had to meet strict eligibility criteria, including being a for-profit, non-profit, or government entity with a facility in Illinois and at least 10 employees. After passing these initial requirements, each company underwent a thorough two-part evaluation process. The first part of the evaluation, accounting for 25% of the total score, assessed our workplace policies, practices, and demographics. But what truly sets this award apart is the second part—an employee survey that made up 75% of the score. This survey captured the authentic voices and experiences of our team, highlighting what makes Reed Construction an extraordinary place to work. Best Companies Group expertly managed the registration and survey process, ensuring that only the top companies made the cut. And we’re thrilled to be among them! Today I spoke on Homes Victoria’s Inclusive Employment Panel with Radhika Ittiel and Will Henderson to discuss the benefits of diversity and inclusion for businesses. With an annual spend of over $300 million each year on maintenance services for social and affordable housing, it’s great to see Homes Victoria championing social procurement in its contracts. Some of my key takeaways from our conversation were: 1. Buy in from leadership is imperative to doing inclusive employment well. 2. Cultural training and awareness is an important first step to encouraging inclusive employment in your workplace, but as Lionel Dukakis pointed out it’s also imperative to then ensure safety and security for your workforce. 3. Building relationships with employment providers will help employers understand and access talent. After such an energising conversation, I’m looking forward to watching our maintenance contractors drive social procurement outcomes through their work. Thanks to the team Rose Tsen, Amelia Marks Danielle Illman and Adele Townsend for hosting us today and providing such a great platform for these discussions! #socialprocurement #sustainableprocurement #inclusiveemployment #homesvic #procurement #learning

Knight Frank’s Global CRE Sentiment Index for Q1 2024 has just launched. When compared to last quarter, sentiment has fallen in all areas of Workplace Dynamics, signalling the squeeze on capital is filtering into the workplace decisions, says Katherine Moss our National Head of Tenant Representation, “and this is evident across all the Australian markets”. “In the last 3 months, occupiers in the Perth market have had a strong focus on cost compression with tenants favouring ‘renewal and adaptive re-use’, says Alyson Martinovich Director and Head of Tenant Advisory WA. On the good news front, positivity continues to increase around global economic growth, which in turn is translating into optimism around expansion. We are seeing some of that growth translate in Australia, but like always, it is balanced against those still trying to ‘right size’ and rationalise the need for deployment of capital to underutilised spaces. - 𝗢𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝟭𝟲% 𝗼𝗳 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘀𝘂𝗿𝘃𝗲𝘆 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝘄𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗯𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗳𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝘅𝘁 𝟲 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵𝘀, 𝗱𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝗼𝗻 𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗿. - 𝟯𝟬% 𝗮𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝘄𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗯𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝘂𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝘀𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗰𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗼𝗰𝗰𝘂𝗽𝘆 𝗶𝗻 𝗻𝗲𝘅𝘁 𝟲 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵𝘀, 𝗱𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝗼𝗻 𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗿 Learn more about last quarter’s sentiment from global CRE professionals globally by downloading the results here: https://lnkd.in/geKh74UU Katherine Moss Rob Johnston Alyson Martinovich Francesco Demarco Neil Murray Lisa Mhaya Mark Blinco Chris Barker MRICS #YOURSPACE #Sentiment #Realestate #global #australia #tenantrepresentation #office #workplace
