"Lack of first aid skills endangers up to 150,000 lives." This was a headline in The Guardian back in 2010. With the global population continuing to grow, it's safe to assume these numbers have only risen. Not knowing basic #firstaid is a risk we can’t afford to take—whether it’s for yourself, a loved one, or even a stranger, having the right knowledge can save lives in critical moments. To help bridge this gap, The PublicHealth Place is offering a free Pocket First Aid Guide with clear graphical illustrations on 10 common health emergencies, including CPR, choking, asthma attacks, and more. 👉🏾 Read the guide here: https://lnkd.in/dUphEesq 👉🏾 Download a copy here: https://selar.co/417d52 Equip yourself with essential first-aid skills, because sometimes, what you know can make all the difference. #FirstAid #Emergency #WHO #FEMA #NCDC #PublicHealth #SDG3 #HealthEquity

This is the difference between life and death. I genuinely believe that. Having the RIGHT #MedicalKit when disaster strikes is what truly counts. There's so many occasions I've heard of where people are carrying a first aid kit - but when it comes to needing it, it's (nearly) useless as it's full of kit which isn't right for the emergency they're facing. It's a bit like taking an Adult ALS kit to a childrens sporting event. Anyway, it's this reason we always try and ask a couple of questions when a customer is looking to place an order for a new first aid kit... Where are you planning to use it? What kind of emergencies are you likely to be faced with? Are you thinking more trauma or medical? ... etc etc After all, it's about having the RIGHT kit for the job - rather than just ticking a box. What's your thoughts? What should Medics think about before looking to change their kit?

RICE - Rest, Ice, Compression, and Elevation — it's a classic first-aid method for sprains and strains. While it's still widely used, recent research shows it could use an update. Experts now suggest adding movement and adjusting care depending on your injury. However, RICE is still a helpful guide for first aid providers! #CAS_SafetyShorts #CAS_Safety #FirstAid #HealthTips

🚑 Did you know that 95% of people who suffer from a Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) die before reaching the hospital? It's a pretty startling reality given 30,000 Australians experience SCA each year. But there is good news - with an immediate and effective first aid response, the average survival rate is 75%. 🚑 Recognising that a cardiac arrest is the first crucial step, as far too often bystanders don't identify a SCA until it's too late. The Chain of Survival is a set of key steps closely linked to the next that are lifesaving. ⛑️ If you need to book your 2025 First Aid training, don't wait, reach out via DM. We are here to help! ⛑️ #HERO #FirstAid #WorkplaceSafety #FirstAidResponse

Anaphylaxis can happen quickly, and it's life-threatening. Here are the essential steps you need to know! 1. Position the Casualty: Lay them flat. If breathing is difficult, allow them to sit up. 2. Administer Adrenaline: Use an adrenaline autoinjector immediately. 3. Call an Ambulance: Dial emergency services without delay. 4. Monitor and Repeat: If there's no improvement after 5 minutes, administer another dose of adrenaline if available. We always recommend taking a first aid course to ensure you know the signs and symptoms to watch for and the correct first aid response. 💚 #FirstAidFridays #AnaphylaxisAwareness #AnaphylaxisFirstAid #EmergencyResponse #SafetyFirst #HealthTips #KnowTheSigns #MedicalEmergency #FirstAidTraining #SaveLives #StayInformed #EmergencyCare #SpreadAwareness #HealthEducation #QuickAction #beprepared
