Captain Ted Funnel had great fun at the launch of Godshill Play Park on Sunday. “A fun place for all”, this brand-new play park is home to the Island’s very first wheelchair swing, as well as other accessible equipment, sensory activities, bike and scooter racks and plenty of space to run around! There’s also a fenced area for under 5's.🚲 Nine years in the making, we were delighted to support local fundraiser and park project manager Nikki Collinson Phoenix in bringing the apparatus and surfacing needed for the play area over to the Island to make this special park a reality.🚢 We hope Island children will enjoy Godshill Play Park for many years to come. You can find out more about the park here: godshillplaypark.co.uk #IsleofWight #Godshill #PlayPark #IOW #RedFunnel #RedFunnelFerry

‘Increase access to green spaces to solve play crisis, charity urges next government’ - Children & Young People Now The Fields in Trust 2024 Green Space Index, raises concerns over the accessibility of playgrounds and recreational spaces for Britain's children, with clear implications on health, wellbeing, and physical activity levels. 🛝 2.3 million (1 in 3) under-nines live more than a ten-minute walk from their nearest playground. 🛝 Unfair access to playgrounds regionally, with children in the North East and West Midlands particularly likely to live more than ten minutes away from a playground. 🛝 Poor planning choices and historic underinvestment as driving factors which have created a ‘play crisis’. Councillors have warned that they cannot afford to maintain sites, and nearly 800 playgrounds have closed since 2013. Children are having their right to a place to play taken away. More must be done to address the play crisis. This👆🏼is why Play England are calling on the next Government to introduce #PlaySufficiency legislation in England, which would establish statutory guidance for local authorities to provide and secure sufficient play & recreation opportunities ⤵️ https://lnkd.in/eKtJWuBg 🏫🚸🌿🍁🍂🪵 🚲 🛴 🛹🛼 🛝 🏃🏼♂️🏃🏼♀️🏃🏾👩🦽🚴🏿🚏🚶🏻🤸🏾♂️🤸🏼♂️🌳🏘️ #PlaySufficiency #FreePlay #Play #PhysicalLiteracy #PhysicalActivity #ActiveTravel #PlayStreet #SchoolStreets #StreetPlay #HomeZones #Splace #FreerangeUrbanNeighbourhoods #FUN #KnowBallGames #Parks #UNCRC #Playgrounds #PublicRealm #Playces #RaisingTheNation

*AMAZING FETE BY YOUNG CHILDREN* "Amazing Fete by Young Children" suggests an impressive or remarkable event, celebration, or performance organized by or involving young children. A "fete" is often a festival, fair, or public celebration that includes various activities like games, performances, stalls, or food. In this context, it could refer to: ◾A school or community fair organized by children where they showcase their talents or creativity. ◾A series of performances, such as singing, dancing, or acting, where children display exceptional skills. ◾A charitable event where young children actively contribute by setting up stalls, running games, or helping with fundraising efforts. The word "amazing" emphasizes that the children's efforts were particularly impressive, perhaps because of their creativity, teamwork, or the success of the event. #kidsactivities #kids #kidsofinstagram #kidsfashion #children #fun #preschoolactivities #toddleractivities #learning #education #activitiesforkids #play #kidsart #kidsfun #kidsplay #art Follow Satish Kakri

Since 2004… We Cambridgeshire Community Foundation have awarded over £32 million through 10,000+ grants. We have supported thousands of organisations, including charities, community groups, schools and sports clubs. They have made a positive difference to hundreds of thousands of people. We have funded projects in every ward in Cambridgeshire. You can learn more about our impact in a new 20-year impact report and most importantly see some of the work of the incredible charities and community groups that make all the difference, especially for those facing the biggest challenges and disadvantage. Whilst I am proud to reflect on what has been achieved, our new Vital Signs report shows that there is still much, very much more to be done. For a brilliantly successful County like Cambridgeshire we can see that the gap between the wealthier and the more deprived districts has widened in the last decade. In our cities, there are stark inequalities relating to income, education, and health between the most and least deprived wards. In Cambridge, there is a 12 year difference in life expectancy between the most and least deprived people! In a County, world-renowned for education, we are below the national average in indicators of early years development and school engagement. Poor outcomes for children eligible for free school meals reflect the impact of deprivation on education and sadly, later life prospects. If you or your business is interested to help people in your community through philanthropy and placed-based grant-making - please do get in touch. https://lnkd.in/dqipYz45

18th July, Mandela Day, people should be encouraged to dedicate 67 minutes to community service, honoring Nelson Mandela's 67 years of public service. Some specific ways individuals can give back to their communities: 1. Help at Local Shelters: Spend time assisting at homeless shelters or food banks. This could involve preparing and serving meals, organizing donations, or simply providing company to those in need. 2. Community Clean-Up Drives: Organize or join efforts to clean parks, streets, lakes or beaches. This helps create a cleaner, safer environment and fosters community spirit. 3.Educational Support: Volunteer at local schools or libraries. Offer tutoring services, read to children, or help organize educational events. 4. Visit the Elderly: Spend time with elderly people in nursing homes or in your neighborhood or Old age homes.Engage in conversations, help with chores, or organize a small event to brighten their day. Giving back to your community is indeed important. It fosters a sense of connection, helps to improve the quality of life for others, and can provide personal fulfillment. Contributing time, resources, or expertise can strengthen community bonds, support local initiatives, and create a more supportive and resilient environment. Whether through volunteering, supporting local businesses, or participating in community events, every effort can make a significant impact towards Equality. #DEI#Equality#CommunityService# volunteering #Community bond#Connections#improvedquality of life#personalgoals#fulfillment#gratitude #givingback#peace #buildequalsociety#beautifulsafespaces
