I like how Don aged 20 years... and Roger didn't age at all. LOL! Second... the whole movie is kinda bonkers. It's essentially Jerry Seinfeld in a running joke going "What's wrong with these Pop Tarts?!?" That said... this scene, the "Belle Jollie" of Pop Tarts, is a bit nutty, and only makes sense if you've seen Mad Men. Like the rest of the film, it's funny-ish, but not quite. I'd be lying if I said I haven't given presentations like this... where we thought we were the smartest guys in the room, and yet, gave presentations that completely landed on the client like an anvil. It happens. Although the idea of a sexy pop tart... ok then. LOL! Be interesting to see how you execute that campaign in print and TV, especially back in the 1960s. Although thinking about it... TV I'm not so sure about, but you could definitely do it in print... although not in Life magazine... have to be in Esquire or something... GQ... LOL! The one thing that ad agencies do ... do... for companies, that they will never do for themselves... is show a company something about itself that could be what the company "could be" if it chose to be something other than it currently is... We do that all the time. Sometimes it is liberating... Sometimes it is scary for the company. As an advertising agency, we can see the customer and the company from a perspective that neither get to see for themselves. As a consequence, we can help a company see a potential profile or character of themselves that they "could" become if they chose to be. Now, I'm not saying I'd ever recommend sexing up a pop tart... But it's not the dumbest idea I've ever heard... I don't judge ideas that way. What I do say, when I see things like this... is this... I'd like to see the ideas they threw away, that this was the best idea they could come up with to pitch to the client. I say that all the time... especially when I see TV ads. That ad on TV right now... for Sling... when the people are spitting out water everywhere... the ads they threw away? They must have been downright awful that ... THAT commercial... was the best they had. :P

When you watch a chef on TV whipping up a great recipe much of what makes them look good in the moment is all the prep that has been done in advance. Each ingredient is peeled, choppped & weighed; ready for them to combine at pace with panache to produce the finished dish! As a presenter, 'doing your homework' before you get onstage means you too can make something spectacular! Having a wealth of knowledge to draw upon at any given moment during a live show gives you lots of options. You can fill a quiet moment with an informed comment, or chime in on point to reinforce the message. If the audience watching knows something, you've got to make sure you know it too and more! Feeling relaxed on stage is easier when all your eggs are in order 🥚🐣 . . . . . . . . . . . . #presentationtips #presentationskills #eventplanning #presenter #presenting

It's getting colder here in London, which means we're already on our third brew of the day and we're all desperately fighting over that last bit of milk before somebody has to go and get a new carton... Which leads us on nicely to this week's ad highlight! We have to warn you in advance, there are a few CRAVENDALE FOODS LIMITED ads that are going to feature in this series because, quite frankly, they are so wonderfully silly and memorable that we can't just choose one! Let's go back to 2007, and the hilarious 'Last Glass' advert that brought Cravendale to our attention. Why do we remember this so?: - It's silly. Let's face it, we all like a bit of silliness sometimes and this was so bizarre that it stuck in our minds. - It features three key characters, none of which you would expect to find a room together but all of whom are memorable. - The only spoken phrase is 'milk, milk!', with the information about filtered milk featuring quickly on the fridge door instead. It keeps our attention, doesn't overload us with information and makes us laugh! All these years later, we're still crying 'milk, milk!' when making our cuppas - we'd call that a job well done! What's your favourite Cravendale ad? #OurFavouriteAds #Cravendale #TheLastGlass
