The "He Gets Us" campaign during the Super Bowl was a reminder of how an ad has the power to grip people and pull you in vs. push out a message. However, it's hard to ignore the contradictions of the message compared to the motivations behind the orgs funding the spots. DraftKings launched their first spot with Lebron, who joined them as a partner this past January. You will be seeing it air much more now that football season is nearly underway. Joined by Kevin Hart, the production logistics were kept very simple, having the two simply sit in a living room together. Often times with big name athletes like Lebron, this is done based on his availability for production dates. For comedians like Hart, directors/brands/agencies will often provide a script and then let them riff the dialogue after a few takes are in the can. What do you think?
