6 years ago, Yogi Adityanath called Hanuman ji a Dalit during a rally. This had a polarising reception. Some people were outraged, while some were confused. So, was there any point in it? Or was it just a political stunt? The truth is that Hanuman ji’s caste is never mentioned explicitly. But there are hints for both arguments. For Dalit: - In many medieval South Indian arts, Hanuman ji is portrayed with a bell on his ankle or tail. Such bells were tied on Dalits so high caste people would know whenever a Dalit was nearby. For Brahmin: - Hanuman ji was a well-read scholar who could speak perfect Sanskrit—a language that was restricted to Brahmins only. - Many North Indian arts depict him wearing a janeu—a Brahmin characteristic.
He is the protector :-)
People understanding of caste is very pity and some sect of people has twisted things might be 100 of years back to benefit them
Thank you for the amazing insights on LinkedIn. I am beyond delighted to receive them this morning. I can't imagine my professional career without this valuable knowledge. But the important question is, what's the point of this post?
Actually both group is misguided reality is that Hanuman is a devotee of Lord Shri Ram..and those who is devotees is beyond from this material designation mentioned in Bhagwad Gita.
Why is there any need to know the cast?
What's the conclusion?
