Real Assets Adviser’s Post

Jason Zweig gave PE an interesting write up in the Journal yesterday, and he used an apt analogy. He's not wrong. When Wall Street hangs an open for business sign and waives in the masses, you probably want to avoid, or at the very least, keep your hand firmly on your wallet while you're there. However, his article misses some nuance. Continuing the analogy, you probably don't want to pile into the huge party that everyone is stampeding into, where drinks are overpriced and it's a shoulder to shoulder madhouse. But if you know what you are looking for, you can dip down an alley to a quiet little speakeasy, where you can find a seat and the drinks are cheaper. And in these more off the beaten path places, the PE party is still lit. #privateequity
