While I would like to avoid a discussion on Politics on a Professional Forum, I thought, we must talk about it, esp. when it's the #PoliticsofClimate. Having looked at the election manifestos of both Congress and BJP, I see references to Climate Action. BJP talks about, increasing non-fossil fuel capacity, revitalizing rivers, air quality, coastal safeguards, green finance, e-waste management. Congress talks about, a Climate Authority, strengthening NCAP, clean fuel, disaster management, green investments. To see both parties making Climate an explicit part of their manifestos, albeit the last chapter in both documents, is the right type of politics, when it comes to fulfilling our commitment to our mother Earth. What the winning party does, will be an important observation. My own Climate manifesto includes, 1) Financing Mechanism to encourage MSME's take climate action. They contribute 2/3rd of GHG emissions, but lack the capacity, funding and motivation to transform. 2) Devolution of #Panchamitra goals to States, Sectors, Industries and Individuals 3) Fasten Impact Investment in Climate 4) Build a Maturity Model Roadmap to allow Companies a structured approach to action, rather than a 0/1 approach. 5) A Climate Technology Stack to allow for effecient integration of sectoral solutions to speed up climate action. 6) Build a Sector-to-Sector, Victim & Contributor matrix for each sector. 7) Establish a Climate Authority at State level with strong teeth by way of a Green & Blue Master Plan, which will influence the development efforts across all sectors. I am sure you all have your own manifestos. Do share your list among us. When it comes to #PoliticsofClimate, I hope everyone wins this Lok Sabha elections. Primus Partners India, Nilaya Varma, Davinder Sandhu, Devroop Dhar, Aarti Harbhajanka, Charu Malhotra, Anurag Singh, Shravan Shetty, Kanishk Maheshwari, Arun Moral, Pooja Lahri, Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MoECC).

Talks and manifestos are dime a dozen. Talk is cheap. I see little action beyond talk ..... On things like clean air and water.  The move to solar/wind is driven by economic considerations.

Irrespective of the party, I see a lack of real intent to act when it comes to sensitive actions such as water. We have a 25 to 40 percent of NRW which is basically a waste. It is primarily the authorities whose lack of intent is a result of this. I know there are many more issues in it. But by and large it is the problem with the intent.
