ED&I is not just a priority for Dixons Academies Trust, it’s at the core of everything we do. We are deeply committed to making a meaningful difference where it matters most, ensuring that every member of our community feels valued and heard. To keep this commitment alive and thriving, we are introducing a monthly ED&I update in our weekly internal newsletter. This initiative will help us all stay accountable and focused on our shared goal: to create an environment where everyone can belong as their authentic selves. Over the past few years, we have initiated transformation within our trust, and this seems more relevant than ever given the social unrest over the summer. From listening to our colleagues, to supporting our students, to ensuring that diversity is not only recognised but celebrated, our trust has made significant steps forward. I am honored to attend the #GHC #GHC24 AnitaB.org that will be held in Philadelphia in a week! Many thanks to Khoury college of Northeastern University for awarding me the scholarship. Dr. Hopper’s story inspires me with the perseverance and ambition that women should have in their career growth. Folks, are we competitors? Maybe! But we are also united - a global survey shows that in 2022, only 5% of women held engineering positions in the tech industry globally. In the world-changing tech industry, this 5% is far from enough to meet the needs and aspirations of half the world’s population. I’m grateful to GHC for providing a platform for women and non-binary individuals to recruit, making the tech industry more diverse! We are all part of this exciting journey.
