Before you create your next load of eLearning, it's worth considering if traditional, comprehensive content is the best approach. Or, could quick, targeted learning be a better option? Since the introduction of SCORM 2.1 in 2001, the world, and the way we consume information, has changed a bit. So too has the way we consume information. So, as an instructional designer, should you assume that comprehensive learning is dead and microlearning is the answer? Or, are there any microlearning concepts you can use to reinvigorate traditional eLearning formats? #eLearning #EdTech #DigitalLearning #Learning #Education https://lnkd.in/gBi2ZJ6M

Hello everyone! I'd like to share with you all a learning model I personally love called the Four-Door eLearning Model. Basically this model allows the learner to take control of their learning experience by offering them four unique "spaces" or "rooms" that they can visit in any order. One room is the Library, where learners can study with text, audio, video, podcasts, presentations, etc. This is where the information is available. Another room is the Playground. Here, learners can put their knowledge to practical use and practice what they've learned in a low-stakes environment. This might included interactive games, flashcards, practice quizzes, and more. A third room would be the Cafe. This is basically a social space where learners can share ideas, talk to subject matter experts (SMEs), and have discussions relevant to their learning. And last, there is the Evaluation Center. In this space, learners are assessed on their learning through graded assignments. The cool thing about this approach is that the learner can start wherever they want! It allows for a flexible, learner-centered experience, and I love that about it. https://lnkd.in/e7YHDgNW
