𝗙𝗮𝘃𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗠𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗿𝘆: "Probably the President Club's trip after my first full year... ... When Rob and Colton asked me to join (in 2020), they felt they had something special. 𝗜 𝗵𝗮𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗮 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗽 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗯𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗲𝘃𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺, 𝗯𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗲𝘃𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝘂𝘀. The President's Club trip in 2021 was proof of our success. 𝗪𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗴𝗼𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗳 𝗼𝗳 𝗧𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗯𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝘀𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗯𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘆." 𝗠𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗠𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁(𝘀): "𝗜 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹 𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗜 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗮 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. Whether it's a resource, a friend, whatever. I love keeping in touch with my candidates; it makes this job significantly more human." He went on to tell a story: "A crop of executives from my first-ever Proof of Talent client started their own company, which has gone on to be a massive player in the Web3 space. I had a great relationship with those guys, so I reached out whenever I had great candidates. ... There was one instance where I had a super strong Marketing candidate. I made the introduction even though they weren't hiring at the time. 𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵𝘀 𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿, 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲, 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝗺𝘂𝗰𝗵 𝗽𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗵𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝗱, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗵𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗵𝗶𝗺. That was awesome for all parties involved and very rewarding for me as a recruiter. 𝗣𝗼𝗧 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗢𝗻𝗲 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗱: “𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘄𝘁𝗵,” he reflected. “𝗜𝘁’𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝗮 𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗸𝗲𝘁 𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽. Being part of the founding team and so close to ground zero has been an incredibly humbling experience. 𝗙𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗶𝗻, 𝘄𝗲’𝗿𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝘀𝘂𝗿𝘃𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴; 𝘄𝗲’𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴.” 𝗣𝗼𝗧 𝗖𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗢𝗻𝗲 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗱: “𝗟𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗱.” He added, “We’re fun.” "The work can be stressful, but 𝘄𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗹𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿. When I made my first placement back in 2020, Rob Paone and I hopped on Zoom to celebrate with a glass of Whiskey. 𝗜𝘁'𝘀 𝘀𝘂𝗰𝗵 𝗮 𝘃𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗱 𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗿𝘆; 𝗜 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝘀𝗼 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗸𝗲𝗱." Every day, there was something (new), and every day, we had to adapt, adjust, and keep going. 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗷𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘆 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝗽𝘂𝘀𝗵𝗲𝗱 𝘂𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘄 𝗳𝗮𝗿 𝗯𝗲𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀. 𝗜𝘁'𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲." Significant anniversaries can deserve more than just tokens; something memorable can show appreciation effectively. It's important for companies to recognize long service in a meaningful way, balancing recognition with practicality. In recruitment, while money can be a major factor, genuine appreciation and acknowledgment of effort also matter.
