So first of all, not everyone is cut to start working in a startup, and it's very important for you to know that this is a good career path for you. What we've learned at Ramp is that there are a couple of signs that you're clearly made for this job and that you would thrive and feel like. You're doing God's work working for a startup. If you are excited by owning things from start to end and shipping them and improving something constantly, working in a startup is for you. Secondly, we found out that people who are very comfortable with uncertainty do great in startups. Actually, people who are excited about the unknown thrive in startups. Thirdly, you need to be really excited. Learning new stuff. And so specifically, you cannot hope to just take your skill set, apply it to a startup environment and call it a day. You're always going to step into new shoes and try new stuff, which is going to mean that you're going to need to learn a lot and constantly. Next one is that you really need to be comfortable with multi hatting and there is no way you're just going to be very narrowly focused on one particular kind of tasks and assignments. You're going to try new stuff all the time. Next, you're also going to need to be very disciplined. This is because at a startup it's very rarely the case that your manager is going to be able to oversee all the time and give you guidance all the time, but also sort of like force you to do your best. Day-to-day you need to be self driven and disciplined to be able to achieve your goals without constant supervision and being pushed by your superiors. Next, you also ideally be interested or at least curious about the area of the startup you're going to work for. This is going to be likely a job that is going to be very close to the product space and. The problem area space that this startup is dealing with. And lastly, I think that it is very important for you to sort of have this understanding and motivation to accelerate your career. Working in a startup is best for someone who prefers to condense a lot of work into a small period of your life where they hope that in the end you're going to achieve. Big financial outcome through getting a payout when your startup is going to exit. And so there are people who clearly prefer a steady paced career trajectory. And this is great, but there are also people who really like to Max out whatever they do in life. And so when you join a startup, you just Max out your working career opportunity into a super small chunk of time period. And then if you nail it. This could give you an opportunity to move on with her life and Max out some other area of our life in the next phase.

Think of your career like a saleable asset People don't buy you, the person, they buy the story your career tells The more compelling the story, the better the opportunities that will be available to you If you do have a spotless track record, you should be very careful about which career move you're willing to cash it in for. A couple of bad moves will shrink your prospects significantly. But right now, you have leverage. Use it wisely. #recruiting #hiring #crypto #web3
