When Should We Stop Helping Our Children? 🤔 Recently, I've noticed an interesting trend during property viewings—many prospective tenants are accompanied by their parents. As a mother, it's heartwarming to see such dedicated support, with some parents even traveling great distances to ensure their children find the right rental home. I often remind these tenants just how fortunate they are to have such caring parents. It got me thinking, would I do the same? Probably. Like many parents, I want to help my children navigate life's big milestones, including getting on the property ladder. But here's the dilemma: Are we spoiling them in the process? With two teenagers and a 10-year-old at home, I sometimes wonder if my constant support is preventing them from becoming self-sufficient. My maternal instinct says, "Bushra, they need you to do this for them," but another part of me knows they need to learn independence—even if it means risking a broken washing machine! As I count the days until they head back to school, I’m curious—when do you think is the right time to step back? Or do you ever fully step back?
