🔥 How can we create unforgettable experiences? 🔥
➡️ An experience doesn't have to be fancy to be memorable. Think about the moments from your past that you remember really well. What do they have in common?
⚠️ Often, something unexpected is involved in an unforgettable experience. Sometimes, it may even start with a stroke of bad luck.
Years ago, while I was working in Spitsbergen at 78°N, a couple arrived from Australia. ✈
💰They had saved money for several years to spend a week on a cruise around the island, surrounded by the Arctic archipelago.🚢🏔
❌ However, they hadn't received the message from their travel agency that the cruise had been cancelled a long time ago. They first heard about it when checking into the hotel the night before the expected departure. 😱
😢 The next morning, we all working in the hotel knew what had happened.
😭 He was silent, but she was still in tears when they came to breakfast. We did everything we could to make them feel better. The whole team genuinely took care of them.
➡️ They joined another shorter cruise and participated in activities they hadn't even considered before. It wasn't the same as their original plan, but it was better than nothing.
✅ When they left a week later, they said they probably had the most amazing week ever, with experiences they never would have had if their original cruise hadn't been cancelled.
✍✉A bit later, my team received a postcard from somewhere in Europe. The couple thanked us for our friendliness and the genuine care they received. No matter who they met, whether it was the waitress at breakfast or the bartender in the lounge, they always felt welcome and cared for.
😍 Needless to say, I was incredibly proud of my team!
✅ They all did their best to turn an enormous disappointment into a pleasant experience, and they did it because they wanted to. They were proud of the team and proud of their work. They knew their efforts were appreciated.🏆🏅🎉
