🚀 Exciting news for structural biologists! 🧬 @PDBeurope is now hosting an up-to-date Foldseek-compatible PDB database. Developed in collaboration with the Steinegger Group, this new resource will enable researchers to identify experimentally-determined homologous proteins quickly. About the Foldseek-Compatible PDB Database: We’ve created a pre-processed database using Protein Data Bank (PDB) entries. The database will be updated weekly to include all the latest structure entries. This ensures that your searches are always based on the most up-to-date data from the PDB releases. Finally, we provide this so that you can focus on your research without spending time manually building the database. How it works: The database is built using the Foldseek toolset, specifically through a streamlined process that converts the weekly mmCIF releases into a ready-to-use search index. The main index files are packaged into a convenient pdb.tar.gz file, which can be downloaded and integrated into your workflow effortlessly.
