🔷Following the storm in Vancouver last month, the Canadian government authorized another round of modifications to the Rules Respecting Track Safety, this time focusing on the frequency of track inspections and the use of automated track inspection technologies. Railway firms will be obliged to comply with the following new regulations as a result of these recent changes: 🔸New policies and procedures governing the use of advanced automated track inspection technologies. 🔸Making sure that any track inspection data properly identifies the actual date and track distance so that rail safety inspectors can effectively verify compliance with regulatory standards. 🔷Seeing governments taking measures against climate change-oriented weather issues is promising. We would like to remind you that you can never be too ready for railway disasters. With RailAcoustic®️’s unique technology, it is possible to ensure the optimum safety of your railways. Although the Thames Barrier, opened in 1984, was originally designed to last until 2030, the Environment Agency says that it will protect London until 2070. Scientists are now warning that London may start being overwhelmed by sea-level rises, intensifying storms and more flooding. London has always been prone to #flooding and the Environment Agency is acting now to design and develop a 15-year programme to improve the barrier and defences along the River Thames to help prevent flooding from our changing climate. At Airbus Defence and Space - Intelligence, we help companies to understand #property #risk from #flood and other environmental perils. We provide both current day and future risk scenarios. New and improved defence schemes filter into the data we supply, helping to provide the latest data as it becomes available. Financial companies use this data to make sensible and responsible business decisions on property risk management. If you would like to know more about how we support the financial sector or our #SpatiaCore data and services, please get in touch. #futureflood #climatechange #banking #lending #investors #insurance #propertyrisk
