How is it that so many absolutely brilliant and powerful women often don't have personal lives that match their professional lives? Why did I accept so little? How could I end up in such a crappy relationship! These are questions I've heard amazing women ask about their relationship life. Well...we've been taught to invest in education and training on how to work well and rise up the career ladder but we haven't been taught to value investing in working on reclaiming ourselves and training and coaching on how to LIVE well. It's like if you didn't win the family lottery then too bad for you. But that's so untrue. No matter where you are today, you get to decide where you want to be tomorrow. It's time to stop identifying with your shortcomings and difficulties. You are not insecure, lazy, unfocused, fearful or anything else...those are symptoms of your current state. You are beautifully and wonderfully made. So if you are not walking in that, it simply means something needs to be addressed. Give yourself the space and the time and do so. Don't bury yourself in work... Don't focus so much on making a living and making a mark...that you miss out on really making a life. PS: The inner work is not therapy. It's deconstructing your current paradigm and supporting you in creating a new one that works for the life you truly want. Many of our clients discover after doing the work that they need to unpack trauma and then they get a therapist. And we have quite a few therapists and psychiatrists who have been through our programs themselves and found it very powerful. All our programs are housed in our membership community but you can engage as you choose. Learn more and sign up. Iconicwomanhoodcircle.com Open Enrollment ends October 16th, but we have a special yearly membership sale going on now till Sept 14th.

In therapy, our role extends beyond individual healing – it's about advocating for societal change. Here's why integrating social justice matters: 1️⃣ Addressing Inequities: Therapy must confront systemic injustices that impact our clients' lives, helping them heal from discrimination and oppression. 2️⃣ Empowering Marginalized Voices: Social justice-oriented therapy empowers marginalized communities, fostering a space where every voice is valued. 3️⃣ Promoting Holistic Healing: Healing goes beyond individual symptoms; by tackling societal issues like racism and sexism, we promote holistic well-being. 4️⃣ Creating Lasting Change: Social justice in therapy isn't just about temporary fixes – it's about catalyzing enduring social transformation. Let's infuse our therapeutic practices with social justice, contributing to a world of empathy, equity, and empowerment. Congratulations Rita Chi-Ying Chung and Fred Bemak Wishing you both continued success in all of your endeavors.

🌱 Introducing the Rise and Reclaim Network 🌱 I’m thrilled to announce the launch of a space I've been passionately cultivating for years: the Rise and Reclaim Network. This network is a private and safe space for women seeking to break free from the shackles of trauma, particularly spiritual/religious and SA traumas, and to step into their power with a renewed sense of purpose and self-worth. My journey has been both personal and professional. As a registered nurse with a master’s in nursing, a trauma-informed coach, and a survivor of these experiences myself, I understand firsthand the unique and deeply personal battles that can feel isolating, overwhelming, and challenging to articulate. The passion behind this mission, is to make sure NO woman ever feels alone as they learn to conquer and heal through their past traumas. The Rise and Reclaim Network is more than a community; it’s a brave, compassionate and supportive space where women are encouraged to grow through shared stories, mutual support, and the belief that we are stronger when we rise together. 💬 This isn’t just a conversation; it’s a movement. I invite you to join us if you are on a journey to reclaim your voice, your strength, and your sense of self. Together, we can break the cycles of silence and empower one another to rise above any past wounds. Let’s heal, let’s grow, and let’s reclaim. 🌿 Click the link below to join 👇 👇 https://lnkd.in/e3fftrCq #riseandreclaim #womenshealth #transformation #womensempowerment #mentalhealth #safespace #healing #womensrights

🧠 NEURODIVERGENT IDENTITY 🧠 In the realm of cognitive diversity, there exists a unique identity that is often overlooked. This identity is characterized by a distinct neurological configuration, often associated with advocacy and community support. In Women’s Month, we chose not to hold an event, as expensive gatherings have yet to yield any significant funding to address the urgent needs faced by many. Abuse and trauma cannot be resolved solely through police stations or courtrooms. Abuse occurs in the home and the workplaces at alarming rates. Calls come in for safe housing, food, petrol and even school fees. However the approach must focus on addressing the behaviors and emotions that perpetuate toxic cycles, whether one is a perpetrator or a victim. To make a meaningful impact, we need to change the narrative to influence future generations and effectively tackle this pervasive issue. Healthy, meaningful relationships are essential for our well-being. When these are lacking, it affects our financial stability and physical health and leads to the entire family breakdown. So, where do we start, and why have all previous efforts and healing modalities fallen short? Because for this complex problem we need specific solutions by experts that understand how to address abuse and trauma or any disconnections of the human experience. Join CSW Samantha Le Roux and Jenni Batchelor for a unique healing and transformational series—a proven, tried-and-tested system designed to bring real change. If you would like to register for the event, please find the link in the comments. Additionally, if you are unable to afford the course please contact us to see if you are eligible for course sponsorship. Let's #TalkAboutAgeism, shall we? That's exactly what I'll be doing on October 9, #AgeismAwarenessDay, as the featured speaker for the American Society on Aging, which hosts the day in the U.S. What I'll be talking about: ▶ What #ageism is and how it interferes with our lives, economic security and health, and the economy 💡 What we can learn from successful social change movements to use in our fight to #EndAgeism [THIS IS ALL NEW MATERIAL THAT YOU WON'T HAVE HEARD BEFORE IN MY PREVIOUS PRESENTATIONS] 🏌♀️ Concrete, effective ACTIONS that anyone can take, including effective ways to have everyday conversations. Or as my colleague Julia Burrowes said yesterday on a call: "The goal for Ageism Awareness Day is to get outside the aging network and to get everybody, all of our neighbors, all of the folks that we interact with, to realize that this is impacting them and they don't even realize it." Kudos to Jeffrey Klein, FACHE and Barbara Meltzer and everyone on ASA's Ageism and Culture Committee, including my Colorado friends Jan Golden and Kris Geerken, MHA The (virtual) event is open to the public (free to ASA members; $150 for nonmembers--great incentive to join ASA!). You can learn more and REGISTER HERE: https://lnkd.in/gcM7a2Ag #DontTalkAboutIt. #BeAboutIt #EndAgeism

✨ Advocacy, Equity, and the Future of My Work ✨ This year has been one of profound advocacy, growth, and transformation. As I reflect on the work I’ve done, I am also looking ahead to how these experiences will shape the future of my efforts through Village of Sound Mind. Earlier this year, I had the honor of: 🌟 Speaking at the National Association of Black Social Workers, where I discussed Reimagining Competence in the licensure process—a path forward that eliminates the harm caused by biased exams like those created by the ASWB. 🌟 Representing the NAACP on the Workgroup on Social Worker Requirements for Licensure, ensuring that historically marginalized social workers and the communities they serve remain the focus of these reforms. 🌟 Delivering a keynote for Advocacy Day at the University of Maryland School of Social Work, sharing my grassroots work with SWEAR and how rage can be a powerful catalyst for advocacy. These experiences have deeply informed my vision as I move forward with Village of Sound Mind, a space where healing and systemic change intersect. I am excited to expand into both B2C and B2B work that continues to center historically marginalized communities while creating pathways for healing and equity. 🫶🏾 For Individuals: Through trauma-informed therapy, workshops, and support groups, I empower Black women and Women of Color to: 👉🏾 Heal from generational, childhood, and relationship trauma. 👉🏾 Reclaim their narratives and align with their true selves. 👉🏾 Build lives rooted in authenticity and freedom. 🤝 For Organizations: I partner with forward-thinking businesses, nonprofits, and educational institutions to: 👉🏾 Develop decolonized wellness programs that center equity and inclusion. 👉🏾 Transform workplace culture with liberation-focused mental health strategies. 👉🏾 Create systems that support healing for both employees and the communities they serve. This dual approach allows me to continue advocating for systemic change while fostering healing at both individual and organizational levels. As we approach the new year, I’m committed to expanding this work and deepening the impact of Village of Sound Mind. If you’re ready to join me on this journey—whether as an individual seeking healing or an organization ready to center equity—let’s connect. #Advocacy #Equity #VillageOfSoundMind #MentalHealth #Healing #SocialWork #SocialJustice
