How important is it to you to have HR in person to support you?
Are in-person interactions still critical in HR? As an HR professional with 25 years of experience, I’ve had the privilege of supporting organizations through many people related challenges—whether shaping strategies, navigating legal risks, or creating thriving workplace cultures. Throughout my career, the focus has always been on connection, collaboration, and results. While I completely understand the value of face-to-face interactions, I wonder if being physically present is always essential for providing effective support. After all, the past few years have shown us that connection and impact can take many forms, especially in an increasingly hybrid and digital workplace. Here are a few questions I’ve been considering: Does proximity always equal effectiveness? Can impactful HR advice, guidance, and support be delivered just as effectively without being physically present? Are we prioritizing presence over expertise? In today’s world, does where you work matter more than the value you bring to the table? Could flexibility unlock more value? By expanding the definition of connection, could organizations tap into a broader, more diverse range of HR expertise? I believe this is an important conversation for leaders, organizations, and HR professionals alike. How do we balance the need for human connection with the opportunities offered by remote and hybrid working models? I’d love to hear your thoughts. #remoteworking #hradvice
