For the third year in a row, I had the honor of setting the agenda for the #AWSSummitBerlin. This year together with Nahia, Viktor and Martina. I would like to give you a brief insight into what was important to us.
First of all: Summits are educational events where content is the main driver.
So our goal is to inspire the 13,000 attendees and help them achieve their goals.
That is easier said than done. Our customers are quite diverse.
- A variety of #roles: Developers, administrators, consultants, technical and business decision makers.
- They come from a variety of #industries: Banking, Insurance, Automotive, Manufacturing, Media, Retail, Gaming, Travel and Transportation, Software Vendors, Digital Natives, and many more. Often with very specific use cases
- And different company #sizes: start-ups, small businesses, midsize companies, family-owned businesses, national champions, and large international corporations.
- With different levels of cloud #maturity: from absolute beginners to 100% cloud-native companies
- And, of course, from different countries, #cultures, and backgrounds.
Just as diverse are our services and the things that make up a successful cloud deployment.
- AWS currently offers over 240 #services. Basic services for compute, network, security and storage, but also everything related to serverless, microservices, IoT, analytics, SAP and Windows. And, of course, generative AI with our new Amazon Bedrock and Amazon Q services.
- Successful tech companies are successful because they combine technology with the right #people and the right processes. So we also want to talk about the soft topics: Culture, #Devops, Agile, Change, #Sustainability, Inclusion and #Diversity, and above all, #Innovation.
What makes a successful event?
1. good content
2. good speakers
Content: We received over 1100 submissions to our call for content. We try to curate a portfolio of sessions that cover the above dimensions and inspire our attendees. Data and anecdotes from other AWS Summits and AWS #reinvent help guide the selection process.
Speakers:
- We look for experienced #AWS subject matter experts who we know can make even hard-to-understand topics understandable and entertaining.
- At the same time, we want to give new, inexperienced, and especially #underrepresented talents in technology the opportunity to gain experience. That's why we have two or more speakers on stage.
- Customer speakers. #Customers want to hear from other customers about what cool things they are doing with the cloud and what lessons they have learned.
However, I hope we have put together a great agenda that will help you innovate faster, cheaper and safer.
One request! Please take the time to give us your #feedback. In the AWS Summit app. What's good, what could be better, what did we miss, or what should we try?
