It's clear that digital transformation is both an urgent priority and a significant challenge for many health systems. A recent McKinsey & Company report reveals that while 75% of health system executives prioritize digital transformation, many lack the resources to fully implement it. Interestingly, 88% believe in the transformative potential of AI, yet fewer than half have invested in it. Perhaps it was too many point-solutions in the post-EMR era that burned them?? Key investment areas include virtual health for patient experience (76%), revenue cycle management (70%), and digital front doors (62%). Despite the hurdles, the commitment to leveraging technology for improved patient outcomes and operational efficiency is evident. The path forward demands strategic investments and innovation to truly harness the power of digital health. https://lnkd.in/gycdNDWA #HealthTech #DigitalTransformation #AIinHealthcare #FutureofHealth
I've found that most health systems have tools to address these issues already. They often haven't built them out, coordinate the strategy across their acquisitions, and importantly - put time into the people to train them or give them space to build them out. They need to focus on cleaning up the back yard and fixing the foundations - before focusing on how the front garden looks because that is the more exciting thing to do.
