Today's early-morning coffee-cup learning session was all about continuing my quest to master OBS Studio and how it can help create better video content for the learner's journey. As you can see, my cat was like, "Bro, why you up at 4:00 AM? The Auto-Magical Kibble Dispenser™ doesn’t deploy rations until 6:00 AM!" After another cup of coffee, my notes finally started to make sense again (funny how caffeine does that), and it reminded me of a bigger picture. The learner’s journey is a lot like the customer's journey. Both start with that “What do I even need?” moment, followed by trial, error, and way too many frustrating Google searches. I see this a lot with the customer and pre-customer learning journeys I’ve worked on. In my experience, the learning objects that had the most success were the ones designed with a clear focus on what the audience actually wanted to learn—delivering value without cramming in a bunch of unnecessary sales fluff. (Pro tip: Challenger Sales Method for the win—because nobody likes being hard-sold before coffee!) Ultimately, the winning journeys—whether for learners or customers—are the ones that respect their needs and deliver real value. But here’s the best part: whether it’s helping your audience master a skill or helping companies find the perfect solution—there’s this rush. That “Yes! Nailed It!” feeling? It never gets old. It’s messy, it’s unpredictable, but man, is it worth it when everything clicks. What’s been your latest “ah-ha” moment?
