At Qvanteq we believe that vascular devices should be anti-thrombotic! Any commonly used material for vascular implants has a certain level of thrombogenicity. While some manufactures have begun applying some kind of anti-thrombotic surface finish (mostly in form of a coating), the majority of the vascular devices do not have such a surface finish and induce in vitro thrombi like e.g. the neurovascular Nitinol stent on the picture left below.
