Guilty as charged. I find myself consciously or unconsciously trying to win some of these non-existent awards. Yes sometimes I am conscious of what I am doing, but can’t stop myself. The ‘never said no’ non-existent award resonates in particular with me, and ‘the worked longest’, and ‘the rested least’, and … Which one resonates with you? Can you believe it? There’s only ONE WEEK to go until the Diversity & Inclusion Awards Wales 2024! 🎉 We’re so excited about this. These awards mean so much, they’re about celebrating the incredible individuals and organisations who are working tirelessly to make Wales a more inclusive, welcoming, and accessible place for everyone. The journey to true inclusion isn’t always easy. It takes courage, vulnerability, and a willingness to break new ground. Many of the finalists have faced significant personal challenges to drive change, and are paving the way so that others won’t have to fight the same battles. That’s why these awards are so important, they’re a chance to celebrate those who are making a real difference and inspiring us all to do the same. We can’t wait for next week! Keep an eye on our socials to see who takes home the win in each category... it’s going to be amazing! 🎉 Ogi WeGetDesign ThinkEDI ThinkGlobal HR Welsh ICE Finalrentals Sophie Mason Merryn Roberts-Ward Jessica Bowen Image description: The image has a purple background with gold confetti scattered across the top. Real World Group’s Embracing Diversity Inventory (EDI) helps you understand the extent to which your leadership culture supports or discourages diversity and inclusion. It is an evidence-based tool that results in a comprehensive overview & analysis of your leadership culture. It is highly practical and helps you create targeted initiatives that create a fairer, more successful and inclusive culture. Steve Walker-Whitehead - Director of People, Equality & Organisational Development, London Borough of Hounslow kindly shares his experience of working with Juliette Alban-Metcalfe and the wider team here at Real World Group Steve discusses how they applied Real World Group’s EDI as part of their commitment to ensuring they are a truly diverse and inclusive Council and also in refreshing their values. Watch the video to find out more about the outcomes and the impact of the EDI, and how London Borough of Hounslow were able to precisely gather the information they needed and create targeted interventions to enhance their culture. #inclusive #inclusiveleadership #edi #diversity #inclusion #leadership #organisationaldevelopment #culture #leadershipculture #inclusiveculture #evidencebased #organisationalsurvey #edisurvey https://lnkd.in/eVSm3nGB

🚫 Let's Address the Root Issue: The Table Itself 🚫 We often hear about "pulling up chairs" and "inviting people to the table" in discussions about diversity and inclusion. But why does no one question why the table was set in the first place? At this point, maybe no one cares to ask the question. The table itself is the problem. Continuing to focus solely on DEI education and strategy without questioning the structure of the table perpetuates the cycle of avoiding the real issues. As someone who has facilitated numerous DEI trainings, I've heard time and time again that we're "bringing more people to the table." But we need to ask ourselves: Why was the table set the way it was in the beginning? It's time to reevaluate the very foundation upon which our organizations are built. We must address the systemic barriers that prevent certain individuals from even reaching the table, let alone having a meaningful seat at it. Let's not just invite people to the existing table; let's redesign the table itself to ensure that it is inclusive from the outset. #DiversityAndInclusion #DEI #RedefineTheTable #InclusionMatters
