I have so many hats. Not the metaphorical, "I wear lots of hats" phrase common in nonprofits, but literal hats. Because for years, I put on and attended fundraising events. Now I rarely recommend an event for fundraising as I know the value of relationship-based fundraising. That said, many folks still ask about whether they should keep their events. Here is my answer: ask your donors. Do not ask all attendees of your event. Ask the humans that actually make the decisions to donate. Put together a simple 4 minute survey and send to the people who have shown care for your mission and capacity to give. They'll tell you what they would respond to, and you can balance that with the needs of your organization. Want help?
