It's the sign of times when StackOverflow starts a podcast dedicated to the awful job market in tech: We'll Be In Touch. However, the first episode was just like the old SO flagship pod, which has now turned into basically infomercials (every guest sells *something*). This is old-school, "let's talk some tech war stories" pod, and not the doom and gloom that the title may suggest. Let's wait until episode 2? I smiled when Mitofsky mentioned his aggressive use of Slack reminders at work in order to keep on top of things. I do that too. In fact, I use Slack reminders for everything. I just created a reminder to pay my credit card balance off later today, because I WILL forget (again).

So you want people who are productive, who get things done. The best people in organizations, you send them problems, and order comes out. You can get a sense of who these are... It’s like with fluid dynamics.
