All industry has a responsibility to lead with the environment in their mission statement as it relates to their specific business. I believe most organizations in Canada are leading in innovation on a global scale when it comes to matters like carbon capture, environmental policy, resource extraction and reclamation. I don’t think arbitrary tax increases have driven this effort. Great businesses have. In saying that I think the best thing is to trend the effects of this decision and let’s see in a year what this tax has done? Will we single handedly save the world or are we just redistributing income? Are we going to become net zero or will we just abandone this initiative like the previous ones? What’s the real reason here and why can’t Canadians be apart of the decision rather than just the financiers? What specifically have Canadians done to upset their Government that we are now being punished? Care to comment Justin Trudeau?
