As we celebrate Pride Month in June, we would like to highlight our ongoing commitment to fostering a diverse and welcoming environment for everyone. Queensway strives to create an environment where everyone feels they belong, regardless of their background or identity. We believe that our diversity makes us stronger and more innovative, driving us to better serve our customers and community 🌟 What is Pride Month? Pride Month is to honor the LGBTQ+ community's history, struggles, and achievements. The origins of Pride Month are rooted in a pivotal moment in LGBTQ+ history: the Stonewall Riots in June 1969 where the patrons of Stonewall Inn (a popular gay bar in New York City's Greenwich Village) fought back against the police harassment the community frequently received. The ensuing riots lasted for several days and galvanized the LGBTQ+ community, inspiring a more organized and vocal fight for civil rights. Pride Month is a testament to the resilience, creativity, and strength of the LGBTQ+ community. It is a reminder of the progress made and the work that remains in the fight for equality and acceptance. Happy Pride Month! #Queensway #equality #pridemonth #bekind

Happy Pride Month! June is Pride month, and holds a huge amount of importance for all LGBTQ+ people and allies. Pride stems from the Stonewall Riots which took place in New York in 1969, when an LGBTQ+ crowd decided to fight back at the injustice of the police invading their rights and queer spaces. Five days of rioting took place and changed gay and lesbian rights for ever. As a result of this, lots of legal and political changes have taken place and directly impacted the life of the LGBTQ+ community, such as the Same Sex Couples Act 2013. Pride is a fun and enjoyable time for everyone, where people are able to share their identity and be open with others. But it is also about raising awareness of the issues faced by the LGBTQ+ community and shining a light on the issues that still impact different parts the community. For example, although rights have improved for Lesbian and Gay people, trans people within the UK are still facing difficulties. Pride now represents solidarity, collectivity, identity and resistance to discrimination and violence, which is so important for everyone in order to live and identify without prejudice.

🌈 Happy Pride Month! 🌈 As we celebrate Pride Month, it's essential to recognize the importance of diversity in the workplace. Every voice, every perspective, and every story enriches our collective experience, driving innovation and fostering a more inclusive environment. Embracing diversity isn't just a corporate value—it's a fundamental principle that benefits us all. This month, let's commit to being more empathetic and understanding. Many individuals in the LGBTQ+ community face personal mistreatment and discriminatory legislation that threatens their basic human rights. We can all play a role in advocating for change and creating a world where everyone feels valued and respected. To those who may have ill feelings towards the LGBTQ+ community, I encourage you to take a moment to listen to their stories and experiences. Empathy is the first step towards unity and progress. Together, let's build a workplace and a world that celebrates diversity, champions equality, and stands against hate. Happy Pride! 🏳️🌈💼 #pridemonth #DiversityAndInclusion #EqualityForAll #EmpathyInAction

On June 28, 1969, the Stonewall riots began – a historic series of events over six days where LGBTQ+ protesters fought back against police raids at the Stonewall Inn in New York City. This was far from the first instance of U.S. police brutality against queer communities (targeting gay bars was just one manifestation). The revolt at Stonewall marked a significant moment in LGBTQ+ activism, furthering a spirited resistance that would shape the future of the movement in the United States. BLO stands in solidarity with the LGBTQ+ community as we commemorate this anniversary. We honor the brave individuals who fought back against discrimination and state-sanctioned violence, as well as those who do so today. We believe that art has the power to reflect and inspire change. Through the language of opera, we seek to amplify the voices of diverse individuals and communities both on and offstage – especially those that are marginalized and underrepresented – to foster empathy, understanding, and meaningful human connections. Love knows no boundaries, and on this 55th anniversary of Stonewall, we celebrate the resilience and activism of those who continue to advocate for LGBTQ+ rights, queer joy, inclusive spaces, and equity. #stonewallanniversary #loveknowsnoboundaries #inclusivity #equity #opera #stonewall

Happy Pride Month! 🌈 As a People Leader I want to share ways to demonstrate your commitment and support for LGBTQ+ rights and equality. Diversity is our strength, and we all should be committed to fostering an inclusive workplace where everyone feels respected, valued, and empowered. Here's how we all can demonstrate our commitment: 1. Inclusive Policies: Update your policies to ensure they are LGBTQ+ inclusive. From anti-discrimination measures to learning resources, strive to create an environment where everyone can thrive. 2. Pronouns Matter: Encourage everyone to share their pronouns in their email signatures and introductions. Let's normalize this practice and create a more respectful workplace. 3. Visibility: Throughout Pride Month, share stories of LGBTQ+ employees, allies, and community members. Celebrate their achievements and resilience. 4. Community Engagement: Actively support LGBTQ+ through donations to impactful organizations and events. Here is an organization that I will be donating to this month. Check it out and join me in supporting ALL with LOVE! Houston's New Faces of Pride: https://lnkd.in/gJar4dMk Remember, supporting LGBTQ+ rights isn't just about a month—it's a year-round commitment. It’s Pride Month!🏳️🌈 We just wanted to take a moment to look back on the bravery that led to the month-long celebration that we know today. 💪 It’s no secret that the LGBTQ+ community has been discriminated against for generations. People have always pushed back against this prejudice, but for the sake of time we’re going to fast forward through the history books to Manhattan in 1969. 🏙️ At this time, there weren’t a lot of bars for the LGBTQ+ community and those that did exist were often raided by police. It was during one such raid, at the Stonewall Inn, that things changed. Instead of just submitting to arrest 🚓🔒and allowing the police to beat them, people began to fight back. After word got out about the Stonewall Inn incident, people began to take to the streets in protest. 🪧✊ One year after the Stonewall riots, people chose to march from the Stonewall Inn to Central Park, thus creating the first ever pride march. 🌈 Now, Pride month is celebrated around the 🌏. There is still discrimination in all parts of the world, so there will always be work to do to help this community and all marginalized communities feel at home in their skin. We hope this June, you’re able to show PRIDE in the unique and amazing person that you are, while giving others the space to show their beautiful colors. Why, because it’s all about people and showing those around you the compassion you want to be shown. Whether it’s in sales or everyday life, a little respect and love can take you so far. ❤️💛💙 For more information on the history of Pride Month, check out this amazing article from Reader’s Digest: https://lnkd.in/eQZd7PfC #SalesUpRising #PrideMonth #salescoach #salescoaching #businessgrowth #businessmentor #businessgoals #businesscoaching #businessstrategist
