🌟 Queensway Charity Golf Day 2024 🌟 On Thursday, 12th September, we held our annual charity Golf Day South Herts Golf Course in London. 15 teams joined us for a Texas Scramble tournament, all in support of our charity partner, St Mungo's. The day was full of sunshine (with a little bit of hail!) as we enjoyed a fantastic round of golf, followed by a great lunch, prize-giving, and an exciting raffle. 🎉 St Mungo's works tirelessly to end homelessness, and they are there for tens of thousands of people each year who need them, to end their homelessness and help them rebuild their lives. Through our partnership, we are committed to fundraising, donating our time, and raising awareness for this important cause. 💙 We’re thrilled to announce that we raised £19,385 during the event, bringing our total annual fundraising to over £30,000! This will go a long way in helping to end homelessness. 🏠 A huge thank you to all our partners and suppliers who made this day possible, and a special shoutout to the team at South Herts for their incredible hospitality. Together, we are making a difference.

Supporting local communities is a key part of our mission at GEDG
Green Earth Developments Group are delighted to support the local community running club in Astley, the ‘Gin Pit Flyers’ They are the latest organisation to receive a grant from GEDG’s Whitehead Site Community Fund, which is administered by local residents and chaired by Councillor Barry Taylor and which has distributed over £23500 to date to support local causes. Mark Collier, GEDGs Finance Director works closely with Barry and tireless local resident Treasurer Christine Elding to ensure that all qualifying clubs, community groups and charities receive the grants they need to carry on providing the community services which are so valued. Tracey Croft, from the GPF’s ‘We would like to say a huge thank you to GEDG for their generosity and support to the Gin Pit Flyers. We are not a profitable club and do a lot for charity, which means we have very little funds in the bank, so it's thanks to GEDG for their grant which enables us to put 3 members through the Leadership in Run Fitness, and means our runners will have adequate support at every session.’ #GEDG #Astley #Community #BCorp #Ethical Development #ESG

Start as you mean to go on 👊 A couple of months ago I announced that I would be donating 10% of all Content Strategy sales in 2024 to Homelessness charities. 🎉 If you want the backstory on this, visit my post 2 months ago where I explain how I am now operating as a "Fit for Purpose" Business model. So I’m pleased to say I’ve already made my first donation to Emmaus UK whose Gloucester site, initially sparked my desire to help homelessness when I was 16, and continues to inspire me to one day start my own non-profit organisation. ▶ If you intend to be a business owner to donates millions to charity, start when you only have £10, £100, or £1000. ▶ So if you intend to be the kind of entrepreneur or business owner who takes breaks, ensure you're taking them from the very start. ▶ If you intend to be a business owner who cares about your client experience, ensure you're investing in it right now. If you have any Homelessness charities who you would like to be a recipient of these donations this year please drop a comment below 💛

It's Small Charity Week 2024! Join us in showing some love. At Bara Studio, we feel really strongly about supporting small charities because their mission resonates so closely with our core values. Our ethos is built on the belief that creativity can drive positive change, inspired by the divine act of creation. Just as we strive to design with purpose, small charities work with great effort to address critical issues, bring communities together, and create lasting positive impact. Here’s why we're such big fans of small charities: 💪 Inspired Work Like us, small charities focus on meaningful projects that make the world a better place, and are often inspired by a bigger story. As a design studio we're inspired by the story that this world was created on purpose and we are here to care for it. Our favourite charities are inspired by specific stories or events, and they seek to contribute to that story. 🏘️ Community Focus Small charities foster strong, local connections for the long run, just as we prioritise building long-term relationships with our clients and local community. 🎨 Innovation and Creativity Small charities often use creative approaches to solve problems due to lower budgets and fewer resources. We love partnering with charities who take things seriously, count the pennies and only work on stuff which counts. 🩵 Respect and Value We believe that a world filled with purpose means people and planet need to be cared for. This helps connect us with small charities who are committed to serving every person with dignity and respect Together, we can increase their impact through creative collaboration and support. Get involved by showing some love to your favourite local charity this week. #SmallCharityWeek #VoluntaryOrganisations #VoluntarySector #ThirdSector

It's tough out there! Charities are under incredible strain after years of cuts and austerity that have caused them to be needed more than ever by their communities. It is a perfect storm. More need. More red tape. More legislation Higher prices Less funding from All sources as funders, individuals, businesses struggle with the same issues And governments make cuts which cause more problems Charities pick up the pieces of the mess they make The announcement of the closure of Zoes Place in Liverpool is another example of the challenges the sector faces. Hundreds of charities are closing and vital services lost. Many charity staff are burning out, becoming ill or giving up in desperation and exhaustion. It is not bad management. It is unprecedented times. There has never been a greater need for people to give and support their local charities. Give without expecting lots of the charity's time. Give without tieing up the money to projects which means they can't pay staff or bills. Offering time is great but doesn't pay the bills. Regular, unrestricted giving, even in small amounts is like gold dust. Together we can make a difference.
📈Amid a serious decline in funding - from government, local authorities and individual donations - grants from charitable foundations are one of the few funding streams that has remained stable during a time of increased demand for charities. Emily Harle's analysis in Third Sector explores how this demand is shifting upstream and the impact it is having on grantmakers. https://lnkd.in/em7qTbv6 🔍𝐊𝐞𝐲 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬: 1. 📊 Surge in applications: Association of Charitable Foundations members report staggering increases in application volumes – ranging from 30% to an overwhelming 100%. 2. ⚖️ Capacity constraints: grantmakers face the delicate balance of managing this surge, usually with a very small staff team, while maintaining fair, effective evaluation processes. 3. 🔄 Adaptive responses from funders: - Increasing funding allocations - Restructuring grant programmes to better align with charities' needs - Streamlining decision-making processes - Reducing administrative burden on applicants 4. ⏸️ Temporary Pauses: Some grantmakers have had to temporarily suspend new applications while implementing these essential changes. At Association of Charitable Foundations we emphasise the importance of collaboration between funders. When grantmakers consider pausing their programmes, we encourage dialogue with other funders to understand the ecosystem-wide impact of such decisions. #CharitableFunding #Philanthropy #NonprofitSector #GrantMaking #SocialImpact
