Freud's Iceberg Theory: Still Relevant in Today’s Leadership Freud famously compared the human mind to an iceberg, with our conscious mind just the tip above the surface and our subconscious driving most of our behaviour, hidden beneath. As leaders, how often do we only focus on what we can see—performance metrics, team output, and deadlines—while ignoring the deeper, unseen motivators that drive our teams? In today's fast-paced work environment, taking time to understand what lies beneath—the fears, aspirations, and motivations of individuals—can be a game-changer. By addressing both the surface and the subconscious, we not only improve performance but also build a workplace grounded in empathy and emotional intelligence. Perhaps Freud was on to something: We achieve true success when we understand both the visible and the hidden forces at play. #Leadership #Freud #EmotionalIntelligence #WorkCulture #PsychologyToBusiness #PsychologyAtWork #TheoryToPractice #People #HumanCentred

What you believe to be true is exactly what will become true. So many times my clients are unaware of the stories that are playing in the background. When asked the question: What do you want? There's always a pause that can be followed by a judgment, evaluation, assumption, excuse, or minimization. When it comes to applying change we get to start with: ---> Who do we get to identify as? ---> What do we need to believe to be true? ---> What change is necessary for us to let go/move forward? When we use these dream-state questions our RAS opens up. #identitychange #paradigmshift #richardbach #mindset #awareness #leadership #executivecoaching #lifecoach #connection #reticularactivatingsystem #SelfCareRevolution #CorporateWellness #MindfulWorkLife #HealthyWorkLife #WorkLifeBalance #CorporateSelfCare #ProfessionalWellbeing #worklifebalance #FulfilledProfessionals #EnergyAndJoy #alyssapoggioli
