🔥 Too much fraud in Mentorship nowadays I have noticed that many professionals are misrepresenting their experience by claiming to work at big companies to attract people into booking paid sessions with them Some are even working at different companies than they claim, using the name of a big brand to attract unsuspecting juniors. I urge everyone to be cautious and verify someone's credibility before booking any paid session. Ask for their GitHub, coding profiles, or even check their work history to ensure they are who they claim to be. 🔥 Lastly, don’t be misled by influencers who gain reach by copying and pasting content from each other and forming like-boosting telegram groups. Just because someone has a large following doesn’t necessarily mean they are the best person to seek advice from. Many excellent engineers aren’t even active on LinkedIn, but their work speaks for itself. Always prioritize substance, expertise, and credibility over superficial reach when looking for mentorship or guidance. Be vigilant, do your research, and seek advice from those who truly have the experience to help. It has been a few very busy months, chipping away at different projects, both for work and for personal improvements. In between we worked hard on Meifesto, making it available in 2 languages and improving website speed. There is still so much to learn about website development, and most of the time I have fun learning it. It does mean different things are pushed to the back burner, including social media. (and linkedIn). Not to worry, as I slowly finish some of the projects I can start picking up stuff where I left them. Decreased some of my working hours to invest more time in Meifesto and the websites is step 1. More to come. :)

When it's time to connect with their Break Buddy, users can effortlessly click the "Join" button and seamlessly communicate via our integrated video platform. This is my first ADPList mentoring session with Yinglai X. a backend developer from Viaplay. I am thankful that she was super cool and accommodating throughout the entire session. Not gonna lie, I was a bit nervous at the start since ADPList didn't have good reviews in reddit, due to most users saying it was really hard to book mentoring calls without being ghosted or getting matched with a fake tech guru that is just offering you their tech courses for 30 minutes straight. Though I have to say despite my low expectations of the platform, I had a fun and interactive first impression of the website and it's mentors, I can't wait to try it again and be matched with other mentors when I am more free with my schedule.   As for the overall essence of the mentorship call, well me and Ms. Xu discussed how European tech company's hire and and scout for talent through partnering with recruitment consultant companies along with the usual abundance of Leetcode and Hacker rank data structures and algorithms technical interviews. I went to #draperuniversity demo day earlier this week. Met this team that asked me about my Github profile, and produced a wonderful dashboard about my tech-stack, strengths, areas of improvements, etc in a few seconds. They mined my code, looked at my commits, my PR comments, impact of the work I did etc I must admit that in minutes, they knew more about me than what my CV, coding tests or interviews could reveal. If this tool becomes a part of regular coding practices, every programmer can get a chance to improve, and managers can get a good indication of the code quality and individuals area of strength.
