🚀I'm bursting with excitement to announce that I've just wrapped up my incredible 1-month internship aNavodita Infotech. 🎉 This journey has been a whirlwind of learning, challenges, and ultimately, a Project. 💼 During this exhilarating month, I delved into the fascinating world of Java. 🌐 My mission- To make a real-time Weather Forecasting WebApp using live API. 🌤️ This project was a fantastic opportunity to put my skills in Java, Servlets (Jakarta), JSON, API Integration to the test, and I learned tons along the way 📒 , from fetching data from Live API to API Integration. 💻 One of the most gratifying technical hurdles I encountered👨💻 pertained to optimizing Servlet interactions within the web application. Navigating the intricacies of Servlet lifecycle management and ensuring seamless data transmission posed a significant puzzle. 🧩 Leveraging comprehensive online documentation 📃 and seeking insights from fellow developers, I iteratively refined the Servlet architecture to achieve an optimal solution💡. This experience underscored the paramount importance of meticulous attention to Servlet initialization, request handling, and response generation. Through diligent problem-solving and a steadfast commitment to Servlet optimization, I successfully engineered a robust and efficient backend infrastructure, thereby enhancing the overall reliability and performance of the application. 🛠️ Beyond the technical aspects, I also prioritized user experience, communication🤝. I closely took advice with the local users and experimented with design elements to ensure the final product was not only functional but also user-friendly and visually appealing. Seeing the positive feedback and how the project is easy to use and user interactive was truly gratifying. 😊 Looking back, this internship has been a transformative experience, filling me with a sense of Confidence, accomplishment, excitement. When interns ask about the projects they'll work on in our Vention Lab Program, I always tell them they're in for something interesting. Recently, I spoke about them with Nodirbek, now a Software Engineer in Tashkent, who started as a Lab intern and later joined our team. He shared his thoughts on his internship project with Fazliddin Nabiev.   At Vention, Lab interns engage in projects that simulate real-world scenarios. They work in a professional environment under the guidance of mentors and project managers. Nodirbek and Fazliddin’s worked on 🏠🔑 "EazyRents" — a platform for managing and renting real estate for long-term stays. Nodirbek highlighted their thorough research and enhanced proficiency. He emphasized the mentor's focus on essential technologies like .NET, ASP.NET Core, EF Core for ORM, Git for version control, and advanced C#. Additionally, they delved into frontend technologies such as 🖥️ HTML, JavaScript, CSS, SCSS, TypeScript, and Angular, with a strong emphasis on effectively structuring code and implementing design patterns. "We were also given access to useful Azure resources and books," Nodirbek added. "We utilized ☁️ Azure DevOps as our main application development platform, using it to store our code like a remote server for our version control system. Azure Boards helped us manage our development workflow and collaboration effectively, with clear task statuses (ToDo, In Progress, OnReview, Done). We used Azure Apps to deploy our application, and setting up CI/CD allowed us to deploy updates seamlessly. 𝑳𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒐𝒏𝒔 𝒇𝒓𝒐𝒎 𝒎𝒚 𝑰𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒏 We startups like to hire interns. Their fresh young minds are a welcome change, especially when you are trying to build something new. I had the pleasure of mentoring Anika Tyagi for the last 3 months. It was a challenging piece for me for multiple reasons She is a complete fresher, full of enthusiasm and promise and is looking up to me for guidance. So it is a big responsibility for me to shoulder I am used to working with people of average 10yrs + experience and so it’s total unlearning and relearning for me of what to expect from teams. I would think we still did our best to make it work, but it made me realise a few important things that I wanted to share. These youngsters learn a lot of theory, and their knowledge of the workplace is very limited. They don't know how to apply their knowledge. They need a lot of hand holding. They are full of self doubts and questions. Now in a typical bustling office scenario, they would find their peer group and support system to help them manage emotionally. Now with remote working, this is a big gap. Don't know the solution, but recognising the problem The education system is focused on Individual Contribution. But in life, we all have to work with people. And these youngsters don’t always know how to do that from Day One. Recently I read in my MICA Bangalore Whatsapp group that a bunch of my seniors, batchmates & juniors have decided to partner with MICA to pick a summer intern to mentor during their internship. I thought it was a fantastic idea. After a certain age, we feel the need to give back. And what better way than to mentor a couple of students whose life can totally change, thanks to this mentorship. Sharing it here, so more people are inspired to follow suit.
