⚡Aviation Partners/FlexSys Morphing Wing Demonstrator ⚡👇 Aviation Week’s Rupa Haria took this video of a wing-morphing “flexfoil” demonstrator that winglet specialist Aviation Partners Inc. and joint-venture partner FlexSys displayed at the 2016 National Business Aviation Association show. The demo illustrates how the airfoil shape could change in flight to boost performance over a wide range of angles of attack, indicated airspeeds and Mach levels. The joint-venture partners are working with an undisclosed customer to retrofit an aircraft with the first commercial morphing wing, an aerodynamic innovation that has wide-ranging implications for performance-boosting retrofits of existing business jets or clean-sheet designs. 🌎 Source: https://lnkd.in/eJx5Q2QS

The Airbus 220 engines issues should emphasize the desperation for “Real Engineers” like myself - the elites and rare breeds of uncompromising multidisciplinary talents. Check this excerpt: “ The durability problems affecting jet engines have hit this aircraft hard, forcing airlines to cancel flights and ground crews. RTX-owned Pratt & Whitney has said that many of its PW1500G turbofans, which were supposed to last 20,000 flight cycles, should be sent to the shop at 5,000. Some are being sent in before 600 cycles. According to August estimates by analytics firm IBA, 15% of global A220s are grounded and another 42% are of the age that suggest inspections have happened or are.” My goodness! Not only it’s not safe anywhere due to random shootings and infectious disease, now we have to worry about flying too - All because IDIOTS and CRAZIEST are running the show —> from big tech to aerospace… We are doomed! As I’ve done at #Google, give me 100 days I’ll point #Pratt&Whitney in the right path to reclaim their 20,000 cycles prediction; no ai nor tools required. That’s why “Real Systems Engineers” like myself are so rare….it is not hyperboles; it is real “KNOWLEDGE”

In 2025 the world´s first 30-seater hybrid-electric plane, Heart ES-30 developed by Heart Aerospace, will start test flights in US. The plane has the potential to replace 30 % of current flying routes in many markets across the globe and can save about 40 % in costs compared to conventional planes of similar size. This is a big deal in the aviation industry and is also a big reason why Mesa Airlines, Inc. and United Airlines has ordered 100 ES-30 planes each and Air Canada 30 planes. In fact they know there is a business case for this plane. Did you know that until the early 1990:s there were hundreds of flying routes across the US alone with similar sized planes within the same flying range of Heart Aerospace ES-30 plane? What happened? Increasing fuel costs and maintenance costs that could not compete with larger more effective air crafts. Do the math and add an incresing demand for silent planes with low or no emissions and the pendelum swings back! I just had a very interesting conversation with the CEO and founder of Heart Aerospace, Anders Forslund on the Evolution Show. We cover a lot in this fully loaded episode with everything from the decision to make the first test flight in US, the new design of the plane, the advantages with a hybrid-electric plane and why there is a huge market for this relatively small but powerful plane that only need 1100 meters of runway length… I hope people enjoy our talk as much as I did, always a pleasure to talk to Anders! For transparency: I´m a proud investor in Heart Aerospace since a few years back, I consider it a clear investment in the future! :) 😎 https://lnkd.in/dXB_nm9y

A big thanks to HMG Aerospace for the article in the Cockpit and Cabin Special edition of LARA magazine! Here is a blurb from the article: As far as improving safety in the cockpit goes, the latest offering from Automated Systems in Aircraft Performance (ASAP) is a versatile product that is capable of making a difference on any flight deck. Known as STAR, it is the first product to connect dispatch with the flight deck and integrate operational data. STAR also depicts engine failure departure procedures in a video form the cockpit's point of view, along with a graphical overlay and eliminates the need for crew members to manually calculate weights, thrust settings, decisions speeds, and center of gravity. “From a safety standpoint, other programs could not deliver as robust V-speed calculations or performance calculations as ASAP," said a spokesperson for operator Kalitta Charters II. "The ASAP system’s ability to instantly calculate take-off speeds has removed the need for pilots to look up those speeds on paper charts and manually enter them into their system - another step towards a paperless cockpit." A spokesperson for Alpine Air added: “ASAP STAR has given Alpine Air a better insight into the key performance factors, better informed control of our operation, enabled us to operate flights with the nearest to optimum loads, and has improved safety for our pilots. For a busy airline, that all adds up to a better service.” Technologies are constantly evolving and modernizing, rapidly causing current systems to become obsolete. ASAP has learned that it must continuously adapt to changing market demands and newer technology. As such, ASAP STAR is a dynamically created modern solution for tomorrow’s future.
