Wow, what a day! Attending my first GVFHR Summit this past Friday, and holy crap—I am still riding the high from it! I woke up excited but had no idea how blown away I would be. The insights and experiences from the day are still replaying in my head, and I can't stop sharing all the little nuggets of wisdom I picked up.
The day kicked off with a thought-provoking panel, and from there, I jumped into three fantastic breakout sessions.
Here’s a quick rundown:
The People Advantage: Cultivating Kindness as a Strategic HR Tool by Cindy Rowe – It was amazing to see kindness framed as a strategic advantage in HR.
The Art of Persuasion: Perfecting Your Pitch with Storytelling by Russ Kliman – Loved the challenge of describing myself professionally and personally in just 6 words. Tough, but such a fun exercise!
Success through Trust: 3 Keys to Successful, Diverse, and Remote Teams by Ken Sher – So many great takeaways on building trust in today’s ever-evolving workplace.
And then, the Keynote—WOW.
“HR Leadership is Life! Making Your Organization Better through the Lessons of Ted Lasso.”
I was LOCKED IN for all 75 minutes. Michael S. Cohen (He/Him) DELIVERED. I left feeling incredibly inspired to listen more, lean in, and be a better leader by showing up for people in a meaningful way.
Kudos to the entire summit committee and all the incredible speakers for making this event so impactful. Already looking forward to next year!
