At propella.ai we are constantly reviewing and assessing AI tools that could benefit organisations. One solution we identified recently was V7 Go, from the team at V7. V7 Go allows you to build workflows that mimic 'chain of thought' reasoning for AI models. These workflows allow you to automate complex, multi-step activities within a user-friendly low/no-code interface. To test the solution, I wanted to see if I could take a number of large PDF documents (> 60 pages) and build a workflow that extracted key data elements from each document and summarise in a table. The workflow that I built (in about 30 min) does the following steps: 1. Input a commercial lease document (PDF). 2. Use OCR to convert the PDF into a data stream. 3. Employ an LLM to extract lease data elements into a JSON structure, using a reference mapping file. (I used Claude 3 Haiku for LLM, but you can choose from most frontier models) 4. Summarize the JSON data into an exportable table. The data could also be pushed to a database/external system. I have included a screenshot helps visualise the workflow...Have blurred out some sections as it is a real lease. Adding new lease documents will automatically trigger the workflow. We are just scratching the surface in terms of potential use cases for this type of solution. But we are now starting to see tools that could deliver on the promise of AI Automation. #ArtificialIntelligence #WorkflowAutomation #AIAutomation #AIInnovation

Hey #legalops #CLM folks - So, there's the 'A' in AI when it comes to contract lifecycle management tools, but did the rush for AI create an abandonment of another very useful 'A', Automation? I see a lot of missed opportunities where systems have left Automation half baked. I know, I'd rather have more robust, granular and simple to set up Automations when it comes to a CLM tool than for AI. What about you? Are you really using your CLM AI, or are you babysitting it?
