"The best ideas don't come from the boardroom, the best ideas come from the frontline." Fantastic interview with James Timpson who's a real proponent of human connections, genuine psychological safety and empowering leaders to actively listen to employees. His ideas on 'upside down management' would be transformational in any business. It's a must watch/listen for anyone in a leadership position. The Rolls Royce story put a smile on my face(around 22:00 mins in). Offering something fun, extravagant and a bit special to top performers was almost stopped because of someone senior in finance. It's a brave leader who is prepared to push back on culture blockers even if they are high up in the business. How often do you hear... "it's a great idea but...." There are always a 1000 reasons to not do something; but a good idea to improve your culture that your employees love should be cherished. If you build a culture that people want to be part of; you foster loyalty, creativity, innovation, amazing customer experiences and deep rooted, authentic connections. Have a little listen and enjoy! https://lnkd.in/g8RKKAjP
