Knowing many programming languages feels like knowing many spoken languages. You can communicate with coders via their books - repos and understand their description of the problems & solutions and of course their unique visions. To read many books in different languages we should learn more languages instead of looking always for the translations because originals always taste better.

According to the Online Historical Encyclopaedia of Programming Languages, people have invented almost 9,000 of these things. And just as with human languages, some die out, while others become widespread. Today, we’re interested in the wildly successful ones.
