The application of the solution impacts not just the disabled, but also the elderly. We are hoping that college NSS teams, CSR teams, volunteer organizations, the lay person, would use this app to create an accessibility audit, which will then create a tangible public good. APD doesn’t own it. We have created it as a digital public good, anybody can download it for free. The YesToAccess campaign has three modules. First is the ‘built environment’ which is what the app is about right now. Then there would be the mobility module, which would look at access in transportation. One key component we explore when facilitating a supported decision making arrangement is what kind of technological supports might be accessible to a person. This might include apps to manage a budget or the newly released Let Me Do It app which is intended to empower individuals with disabilities to make informed decisions.
