I got laid off on my 5th work anniversary. Expected? Hell no! Transformative? Definitely. Here are 5 lessons I learned: 1. Center your self-concept beyond your title. -> Your title isn't your identity, know your true worth. -> Hard pill to swallow, but, do not take it personally. 2. When a door closes, windows of possibility open. -> Get face-to-face with the core of who you are. -> Choose your most empowered version. 3. Humanity is wired for connection, not competition. -> Survival is not a solo battle, welcome support. -> Rise above shame and fear, open up and connect. 4. Crisis does not break you — it breaks you open. -> Be grateful for the cracks; let the light get in. -> Your capacity for expansion is limitless. 5. The universe makes space for what’s meant to be. -> Change doesn’t define you — it reveals you. -> Find courage in the face of fear. This layoff is not an end. It's the beginning of how I shall be remembered. Not for what I lost, but for how I persevered, How I built my legacy, And how I helped others along the way.

Thank-you all for the work anniversary wishes, which are premature, and the birthday ones. Here's what I've learned as a technical writer working for @RobertHalf: Your role can evolve as your skills change and as you become willing to take more responsibility. Having experience is worthless unless you mesh with your co-workers. The power of "fit" is critical. At 68, the most important lesson I've learned--and am still learning having "eaten" my size 12 shoes far too often--is: live your life the way you want. Do what you want but take responsibility for your actions. Success is measured on your terms, not someone else's. Personal motivation: I like seeing people smile. "A smile a day helps keep the blues at bay."

LinkedIn informs me that it's my work anniversary! Guess I was too busy to realize that I am celebrating 3 years as a fractional exec. 🙏 Huge gratitude to the clients who have entrusted me with their business and as a business partner. Helping your businesses grow, thrive, scale, or turn-around is what gets me out of bed smiling every day. 😁 #WorkAnniversary #BusinessGrowth #Gratitude

I've had a fantastic few days celebrating a big birthday this week! Reflecting on the past year, which has been both personally and professionally challenging, has given me the chance to pause and think as I embark on a new decade. This milestone in my life has made me appreciate the journey of my consultancy business, which is celebrating its 6th anniversary this year. Over these years, there have been highs and lows and I’ve learned a lot. Today, I'm fortunate to work with wonderful clients, explore new ventures and continuously develop my business development and marketing skills. Milestones in life and work are essential markers of progress and achievement. They signify personal growth, transitions and collective accomplishments. As with any marketing strategy, each stage of growth, whether small or large, should be noted and celebrated, indicating progression, company growth and team achievements. This, in turn, boosts motivation and morale. As I move forward, I am excited about the new opportunities and challenges ahead. Let's continue to celebrate our milestones, reflect on our progress and stay motivated to achieve even greater things ✨ #Milestones #CareerGrowth #MarketingStrategy #CelebrateSuccess

When things get hard… This is what it actually means: 1. You are doing something that’s meaningful to you. 2. Success will taste a lot better later. 3. You are getting a training on handling hard for when it gets hardER. 4. You get an opportunity to sharpen skills. 5. You get an opportunity to realign yourself with your true values. 6. You got an opportunity to cut down on distractions. 7. You got an opportunity to create great memories (this one day is going to be the ‘good old days’). 8. You got a great opportunity to learn something new about yourself. This is what it actually means among other cool things. My LinkedIn network is reminding me today is my work anniversary. So this is the perspective I'd like to share with you. When it gets hard, that's one of the main ingredients for magic to happen. So, take it the way it comes!

Please join us in congratulating Matthew Krause on his 10 year work anniversary! We sat down with Matthew to talk about his tenure at Krause, his accomplishments, and the many lessons learned over the years. Q: What is the key to staying successful in your 10-year tenure? A: "The key has been a combination of adaptability and a deep passion for innovation. Over the past decade, I’ve embraced new trends, challenges, and opportunities, always staying curious and driven to deliver unique and inspiring solutions." Q: What is the most important lesson you have learned in the last 10 years? A: "The most valuable lessons I’ve learned happened when everything was “going wrong.” It is in these moments where we have the choice to give up or use it as fuel for growth. It is the power of collaboration. While individual creativity is important, the most successful projects are born from a team effort, where diverse ideas come together to create something truly remarkable." Q: What accomplishment are you most proud of? A: "It is an interesting thing summing up one’s experiences over the course of 10 years. I’m incredibly proud of our team and leadership’s ability to push creative solutions and not being satisfied with the “status quo.” Over the decade, I was given opportunities to use my creativity nature to lead several in-house advancements to the company. This has not only brought fresh, creative solutions to our internal team, but also experiences to our clients that has had a lasting impact on Krause’s outreach. Each one stands as a testament to the importance of a company that allows you the ability to stay curious about the world around each of us and the community at large. Hard work and passion are at the core of our entire team." Q: With a decade of experience under your belt, do you have any advice to up-and-coming individuals in your field? A: "Be a shark, in the best possible way. Adapt to change, stay curious, seek out your interests, embrace challenges, never stop moving forward, and learn all you can, while you can."

8-Year Anniversary: What Keeps Me Going? In couple of weeks, I will celebrate my eight-year anniversary with Customertimes. This time, I wanted to reflect on my key insights, what I have learned over this period, and focus on what really keeps me going. Throughout these years, I have remained dynamic. I have changed locations three times, worked on four technology platforms, held five different roles, and collaborated on dozens of projects with hundreds of amazing professionals across various industries and verticals. Key Skills I Have Mastered Although it sounds generic, each skill has a story behind it and has benefited me in different ways: - Never give up when you believe you’re right; learn to say "no," and stay committed to your pursuits. - Stress and time management. - Avoid passive aggression; communicate directly and make concise statements. - Take the first step. It may feel unknown and scary, but it gets easier with time. Things I Am Proud Of - Seizing opportunities and taking calculated risks, even when I felt unprepared. That’s how I changed locations, roles, and ultimately found growth. - Not being afraid to do things I considered embarrassing, such as making cold calls, approaching strangers, and asking simple questions. - Giving my best effort, even when it seems impossible. What Keeps Me Going - Constant change; I never feel bored—there's always something new. - The ability to prioritize family with a remote work format and flexible hours. - A challenging environment. When you want to compete, it shows you care. - Continuous learning and staying curious.

Today is my 𝟮-𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗮𝘁 𝗔𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗮. 🥳 Wow, I learned so many things and met so many wonderful people: ⤵️ 💎 𝗞𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝗮𝗻 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗲. When I started this role, I experienced a great personal loss. I can’t imagine going through the grieving process without the warmth, care, and consideration I was surrounded with every day. Being a “good neighbor” strengthens relationships quickly. 📘 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗱 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗲 𝗻𝗼 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗹. Whether it’s a product or a service, B2B or B2C, SaaS, or a big red ball, tactics may change, but fundamental principles stand the test. Branding, mental and physical availability, category entry points, creative effectiveness—they work even when you sell an idea(l), a lifestyle, a “what if.” 🫐 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗺𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲. It’s not an option anymore. It’s the only way forward. The winners of the long game will adopt a sustainability-first mindset in designing, producing, selling, delivering, using, reusing, reselling, repairing, upcycling, and recycling. It’s a slow, baby-step change—but it’s like (a good) Thanos, inevitable. 💙💙💙💙 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗸 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘁𝗼 𝗺𝘆 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺 for their drive, authenticity, and talent.
