Why does Neofin exist? We do not exist to be one more player doing more of the same or more of the same, but slightly better - that is not our game. After 15 years of experience in the finance universe, I could never understand how the processes of cash management were so outdated - many companies go out of business because they do not have the right monitoring in place. In this context it was very clear that something so core to every company should not be left to fate or to the several hours finance teams would typically spend doing operational tasks. Regarding the Accounts Receivable Workflow specifically, how can a process be so awkward? When you pronounce the words “accounts receivable” or “collection” they are automatically linked to something very negative, bureaucratic and boring - because today they really are. But if you go back to the origin of what an Accounts Receivable is: it is a commitment between 2 parties (companies, but in the end they do have people behind them) with negotiated terms such as payment method, date, among other. In the ideal world, those billings would be paid on time, but the reality is that more than 40% of bills are late today. After the billing is issued, the awkward process starts: the seller chasing the debtor with the wrong messages or through the wrong channels, bad timing, lack of communication and transparency, disorganization, aggressive messages, and the list goes on… At Neofin we believe this whole process should not be handled this way - our mission is to transform this awkward process into an efficient flow, connected to the ERPs’ and banks’ ecosystems. The way we approach this is that every client is different and should be treated in a different way - according to their past behavior and profile they should fit into a specific communication cadence, tone, message and action, which should also evolve over time as we learn specific nuances and variables that drive value to the flow. As a result, our clients are able to: (i) save a significant amount of time they would be spending doing operational tasks; (ii) improve their cash cycle and recover higher amounts and (iii) keep a coherent relationship with their clients - and maybe even leverage this touchpoint as an opportunity to upsell. We understand it may not be obvious to everyone, but we are here to change fundamentally how AR processes are done through the usage of data and AI.
