In a recent study, AGC Biologics' R&D team in Japan compared high- and low-producing CHO cell clones of two types of antibodies to explore the factors involved in antibody productivity. The antibody productivity of CHO cells is influenced by their tolerance to endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress. High-producing clones exhibited greater ER stress tolerance, leading to increased productivity. This research highlights the importance of managing ER stress in optimizing antibody production.
